In Florida it's the Department of Corrections, but you have to know the name of the person you're looking for. It does incarcerated as well as supervised populations.
There are also tons of sites for rapists, pedophiles and, in some areas, assault.
The FBI has a website with photos of most wanted.
I found these by googling and then trial and error. Play with it for your area, you may find new things that aren't offered in my area. Citizen's groups are getting extremely involved in public awareness via the Internet these days.

do a yahoo search on the Kansas prison inmates. you will see links to the prisons in that state if the publicize that stuff. Just go to the website and you should be able to view their pics.

Yes they do. But it depends on what state you are in. In michigan it will show the mug shot if they are still in the big house.
