Even after that country was hit by the US embargo that seriously crippled the economy it manages to have a lower infant mortality rate than the USA.Cuba 6.22 per 1000 life births,United States 6.43.Other developed countries like Holland 4.96,Belgium 4,62 and Japan 3.24 score much better.
What are the reasons and how can the richest country in the world change this?

I didn't ask this for arguement but because I am really curious as to why many people get really offended if this is brought up and react so strong like they suffered a personal insult by it.

She has called for a 90 day deadline for the start of pulling troops from Iraq. Is "cut and run" going to be her campaign strategy? Won’t this put more of our troops in harms way considering the success of the current surge in Baghdad?

I seem to know so ´MUCH´ about the military. No no, I don´t. I NEVER said I did. But I can say that I would NEVER want to join ANY armed forces. Cuz, (Because in case you hold me to bad grammer) I do NOT believe that ANY humans should be allowed to hold weapons that can ´take´ a life. Meaning, no Bush, and no crazy Middle-Easterner who misread something in the Quran. Murder IS for ´bad people´ and ´good people´ just don´t do that, no matter what. So (let me read back so I can remember what my question was) I don´t know about the military but in my opinion it is wrong for ANY country (REGARDLESS of who it is) to invade another country for some political or religious ´agenda´. So here is my question, what does it matter if I´ve been in the military or ANY OTHER position of a person, if I just want be allowed to have an opinion, and have it respected??? Let me know, because I am almost ´PLUM´ out of ideas. Catch you on the other side,backin97weused2ride

Whose doorstep is Iraq on - Iran's or ours?

Iran has been attacked by Iraq. Has America?

Certainly Iran is headed by a racist wacko, but hey, they're right next door to Iraq. America is not. Which has the better reason to be in Iraq and seek to influence Iraq??

Will it stabilize the region, as our leadership seems to believe, or will it further throw the middle east into chaos, bringing in syria into the mix as well? And before people think this is some anti war question, I have been to Iraq twice, and would go again gladly if called up. I just want to know how civilians feel about the matter.

When is the appropriate time to pull these background checks? What questions are the employers entitled to asking the employee about their background? Our manager was fired for embezzeling lots of money from a library. Now, they are requiring checks on everyone. Public allegations have been made but no charges on this manager who has returned over 130,000 back to the library. Also he had been having sex in his office. All of the evidence was in his office, but other employees from different branches cleaned up the mess before GBI could actually see the condition of his office. Why now are they having the employees who have been working for years have background checks and what kinds of questions are these employers allowed to ask about the past?

The only thing that I am concerned about is my education background. First thing, is I had to redo a year in school because I was in the hospital a lot suffering from migraines which I've gown out of. When I went to military school, I had to leave in the middle of the year due to a incident; wasn’t criminal nor anything I did wrong it was someone did something wrong to me VERY WRONG, I wasn’t kicked out, I left on my own decision. Problem after is the incident destroyed my moral so I didn’t work as hard in school and left 2 schools, even tried to commit suicide. I know it was stupid; the time I got it together I was behind. So I worked for 2 years and than got my GED; I am now working on continuing my education like a criminal justice, weapon training, and hand to hand combat training. I am also paying for myself to go to the academy. I would like to keep my mouth shut about the incident, will this come up as an issue at all or will they be able to find out about it.

I don't know the law for the state of Alabama, he has been to rehab for this before and lived in a halfway house for a short time, but he doesn't have a criminal record, what kind of punishment is he looking at?

Please note, I said NEWS STORY, not commentary piece.

I realize leftists sometimes have difficulty differentiating the two, so let me help: Hannity, O'Reilly, et al are commentators. They're paid to comment on the news...kind of like Olbermann, you know?
