All membership dues will be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. This would be your annual dues for membership in a citizens group that does the following:

1. Sends out a comprehensive questionairre to candidates for public office and elected officials at the local, state and federal levels throughout the United States and allows those same candidates and elected officials to answer the questions in their own words defining their exact position on a comprehensive variety of questions instead of merely yes or no.
3. Gathers those responses and posts them on a single website. The details of that data would be viewable, in full, by members only. But also publishes responses, in a summary form, for the general public and media.
4. Allows members to complete the questionairre anonymously (although they can choose to make their responses public) and to add questions to the questionairre that is presented to candidates and elected officials. A summary of responses will be available to public/media/etc

I just asked a question that was removed before even posting .
Here it is and you judge for yourselves :

'We nailed over 200 terrorists and captured over 100 this weekend . Will the Dems agree this is good ? '

Yep, that's it . So now why don't you tell me what's so wrong about asking that. . .. . . . . . other than possibly making a good argument for recent success in Iraq !!!

Is their power and party all they are concerned about? When the enemy looks at their traitorous actions and continues fighting hoping that they will win because maybe the Dens will win, don't the Dems have a conscience?

Ok so I know with being a cop there is a certain degree of confidentiality assumed but what I am wondering is, do you share what goes on at work with your significant other? Are there certain things you do/do not tell your significant other, or is it 'safe' to share your war stories with the one person you are supposed to love and trust? Thanks!!!

Aren't some recessions really just economic cycles? For example, people blamed the Bush (republican) administration for the enron era, the stock market crash/recession, and high fuel prices of the early part of this decade. Yet one can easily look back to the Carter (democrat) administration at a time with some of the worst inflation in the history of the US (double digit) and high fuel prices. Is either party necessarily better for the economy?

at least to some small degree. what is wrong with making sure every single citizen is guaranteed health care? look at canada, their health care is no worse than ours, and everybody is helped. there are millions of americans who cannot afford insurance or pay outrageous, capitalistic prices for medical care. those people have just as much innate right as wealthier people do. why cant our greedy nature take a back seat for a little while and allow our government to help those that need it? people are horrified that their taxes may go up a little, even though they would save that money on not having to pay insurance.

If you could choose a candidate based on only ONE issue, what would that issue be and how would the candidate stand on it?

Mine is abortion. Since most of the Democrats are pro-abortion, if the Republicans run Guiliani, I will be forced to vote for a third-party candidate. I refuse to vote for someone who condones murder.

There are so many people int he US that think that our country becoming a police state is a good thing since they believe that it will make us safer.

How much personal freedom are you willing to give up in the name of safety?

sorry i had to kind of shorten the question to make it fit and make sense...

if were several choices from each 'major' party on the presidential ballot each election day (in addition to so-called 'third' or 'fourth' parties) how would politics change?

would the major parties split into factions, or would their members unite together to keep hold of their political power? would they unite against other parties or each other? would smaller parties have a chance at all? would their be utter chaos, 'business as usual', or would a new system evolve rapidly? civil war?

here's another twist: keep the electoral college. if a candidate wins a state it's his (or hers) along with all its electoral votes. plurality (not majority) of electoral votes wins.

just curious if there's some way to tweak this idea to make it worth considering on some scale... what are your thoughts?

Seems to be a lot of similarities in our country today with the communism scare of the 1950's. A lot of people seem to be fine in losing liberties as long as they are protected, just like during the McCarthy trials.

Communism couldn't survive, Reagan accelerated its demise. Does terrorism have the same fate as communism, with or without our assistance?
