If you could choose a candidate based on only ONE issue, what would that issue be and how would the candidate stand on it?

Mine is abortion. Since most of the Democrats are pro-abortion, if the Republicans run Guiliani, I will be forced to vote for a third-party candidate. I refuse to vote for someone who condones murder.

Would have to say, il-legals. And then again, abortion is up there also. And then again, when you think about it, Lib's are killing all of their future voters. If we wait long enough, Repub's, will hold every seat in government through attrition.

I also vote pro-life and anti-abortion.

We need to stop the 1.3 million baby/fetus killings in the United States each year. Even reducing it will be helpful.

If the two major parties' candidates favor abortion then I would vote for a third party candidate. So far I don't know of any third party candidate against abortion.

Protecting civilization from threats is my number one issue. If it does not survive, nothing else matters.

I thought of that answer before reading your details, and on this Guiliani comes out well, I think. I agree that his stands on social issues will make it hard for him to win the Republican nomination. I have been saying for a year or two that he should have run for senator or governor in NY in 2006. He would have won. He can only be a spoiler in the 2008 race.

Health Care, is my most important issue, I am one of 47 million without access to affordable health care. For this I will vote for a candidate that is pro health care. It is wrong on many levels that many Americans do not have this access to a very important thing, from a business aspect, the CEO of General Motors has said that $1500 of every new auto sold goes to pay for the health care of its employees and retirees this can probably be translated to include most industry's that offer health care to their employees. What that does is make it hard to compete with other company's in a world wide market and it also translates into lost American jobs. There are other levels of this problem, however I won't bore you with them. But yes Health Care is probably the number one domestic issue in the U.S. today.

The most important issues right now appear to be Universal Health Care and Alternative energy sources.

If you think abortion is the most important issue in a Presidential campaign, you might need to see a Psychiatrist.

Abortion may be wrong and necessary mostly because of stupid choices made by two people. It should only be necessary because of rape or incest. The government should never use taxpayer money to pay for them, because they are an elective procedure!

First, Rudi is Pro-Choice. Which isn't sittin' well with the Mainstream Conservatives. But do your homeowrk on whomever you choose. Be a part of the Election Process. We need good, sound judgement in the tricky days, ahead.

That the candidate can read and write. That the candidate know how to articulate and represent him or herself with a sense of dignity. That the candidate is not a graduate of harvard. That the candidate is not a member of "Skull and Bones."That the candidate knows how to think. That the candidate can make deicisions without having an alcoholic dirnk.
