If the US is stepping up it's efforts to kill Iranians in Iraq & the Iraqi Govt is stepping up it's efforts to

receive economic & military aid from Iran, might there be some conflict of interests between the Iraqi & US Govts.?

Yes to the first and no to the second.

The Iraqi government isn't stepping up its effort to get more from Iran, the militias are.

Al-Maliki is realizing that he has to look to Iraq and not Iran for support.
