I really am right wing, and I can tell you if I look to my left, I can't see Geo W. Bush with a good telescope.
I have never considered him a staunch conservative. Just a bit right of center. The proof is he is being hit from both sides. If you are far enough right or left you only have one flank exposed. However, if you walk in the middle, just like in traffic, you will be pummeled from both directions.
BTW, I am with you. But, perhaps farther along. I think it is already too late to do anything real to save this country. I spent 22 years in a military uniform and have retired but when I look at what is going on, I wonder if I wasted my life. And that, sir, is a VERY bad feeling.

Well, the political elites have an agenda very different from what we read in the media. As usual. The Catholicisation of the USA (99% of immigrants being of that religious persuasion) has been going on for decades. And since the church and state are constitutionally separate only a state of emergency would bypass the separation. That is the real reason for the 'Patriot Act'. It would (unless it was checked) create a virtual police state and almost complete unaccountability. To overthrow the USA and its constitution is to create a Catholic USA where (according to its own teachings) the state is subject to the church of Rome.
In the short term big business exploits this tidal wave of illegal immigrants. Then later it easily whips up hatred against them - and it was these corporate giants which exploited them for profit in the first place.
I believe politicians are lying to us in virtually all they do these days. They have another agenda. It's just part of their New World Order. The best way is fully accountable democratic government. So they invented a mythical 'war on terror'. We are starting to pay the price for it now.

Cheap labour. This keeps the American Unions in line and the minimum wage low also.
The fastest growing language in USA right now is one called Spanglish - a Spanish/English mix. Soon, USA will no longer be part of the English Speaking World.
Wake up.

simple. businesses don't pay illegal aliens minimum wage because they're illegal. as for security, the following industries are the main ones to profit under the bush doctrine:
1) pharmaceutical/medical industry
2) oil companies
3) defense contractors
4) security
in the past 7 years if you placed any extra cash flow you may have including stocks, bonds, and miscellaneous equities into one or more of the proceeding industry's stocks, you would stand to make a very sizable dividend.
as for the solution to illegal immigration reform? i have a one:
bring all of the iraqi troops home to secure the mexican border. send all of the illegals currently here to their homelands. when our troops catch someone crossing the border of our sovereign nation illegally, tell them (press 2 for spanish of course) that if they go and fight in iraq, we will not only pay them more than the wage they would've been paid as an illegal, but afterwords, we'll enroll them in an accelerated program to become a full-fledged citizens without all of the needless bureaucracy otherwise included. if they refuse, instead of sending them back across the border so they can just sneak across later, send them to iraq anyway.

President Bush is not a conservative.
In my opinion he is not a true Texan either.
I say we heavily fine all companies that hire illegal aliens. Repeat offenders should receive prison time for the companies owners or CEOs or CFOs.
Also we should pass laws to make it illegal to rent housing to illegal aliens.
No government funded health care for illegal aliens would be my next step.

It's simple. Cheap labour is benifical to the economy. That's why they turn a blind eye. Finacial gain is a lesser evil than terrorism. But we all know that he's not going to say that on tv. But actions (or lack of action) speaks louder than words.
