I live in Riverdale, Illinois where Zenovia G. Evans is the mayor. I also work for the village and my boss has got to be the most incompetent SOB I have ever known and thats saying alot since I was around alot of those in the Army. I need to know how I can find out if my boss is one of the Mayor's political donors. Residents complain, trustees complain, but the mayor LOVES this man. I have no idea what for.

I am asking in GENERAL, not within the context of democracy or autocracy. What I would like to know is the THEORY of government in general. Does real political power rest in the hands of the few that form the government and its citizens are at their mercy, in the hands of its citizens with the leaders simply empowered by the people, some mixture of the two, or something else completely different. Well thought-out answers are encouraged, and thanks in advance.

About a month ago I was coming home and got into an accident hitting a light post. I was still able to drive my vehicle home and nobody was hurt. When I got home, my friends and I began to drink heavily. An hour or so passed and a cop showed up at my place because someone had called in the accident. The cop took me downtown and gave me a breathilizer. I blew .23, so obviously i was over the limit, but I wasnt driving, i was in my home. The cop arrested me for drunk driving and i went to jail. I was released without being charged, but i just found out today, almost a month later, that I have been charged. I am in the processes of finding a lawyer, but can they really charge me when I wast caught driving? I dont thinlk this case will hold up, what do u think? I honestly beleive that I was under the limit when i was infact driving, and how can they charge me with my BAC when I was obviouosly drinking alot at home? does anyone have an opinion?

Regulation and legalization and taxation. Price of drugs would fall they would be no longer means to make money for Terrorists, gangs or the maffia. Taxes on the sale of drugs collected and re-invested in the treatment of addicts. Addicts get cheap drugs no need to steal, burglarized or mugg others to get high. If someone drives under the influence send them to jail.
The way we are going we are going to jeopardize the national security of the West and America if we keep the fail policy of the War On Drugs.

Especially given what many of the Arab nations are saying about them feeling constrained to answer the Iranian (Persian) nuke program with one of their own, it looks like it would be in the best interest of the world and middle east specifically if the U.S. took military action to at least turn the clock back on the Iranian nuke program. This assumes, of course, that it cannot be done through diplomatic means, which would be much preferable.

Mrs. BLACKBURN. Mr. Speaker, the media just loves to give names to the different Congresses. I think that they should call this one the Hold-Onto-Your-Wallet Congress, because they are definitely coming to a wallet near you and it is going to be yours. During their first 100 hours, which is seeming to never end, they are spending billions of dollars of the American taxpayers' money on, guess what, bigger government, right here in Washington. They are not sending that money back to the local communities. And today they are going to have their student loan bill up.

Here are some facts. They would have you believe that we have slashed student loans and it is just not true.

Here is a fact. In a shocking display of hypocrisy, Democrat leaders are paying for their $6 billion plus plan with some of the same lender subsidy cuts crafted by congressional Republicans in the 109th Congress.

Here is another fact. House Republicans have committed a record $13 billion for Pell Grants, a two-thirds increase over the past decade. Go look it up.

Another fact. To the tune of more than $4 billion over 5 years, congressional Republicans established the first-ever grant program for high-achieving Pell students in their first and second years of college.

It is a fact. Republicans have a solid record of helping students get and stay in school.
