ok, so I dont agree with the statement but I COMPLETELY understand your frustration.
Most black americans are democrats because they think that is the party that will truly help their people, also, their parents, grandparents, etc.. were dems, not to mention the fact that they fall for the democratic political panderers every single time (ie...hillary clinton at the black church)
As a mother of 2-bi racial children, at one time in my younger life I believed I was a democrat, and I will admit I voted for Clinton because I felt it was the right thing to do, I really didnt know anything about politics at the time and listened to my black friends because I cared for them and wanted to support them.
As I actually began to learn the ins and outs of the different political parties, what their goals were, and what my own goals were I realized that I was not a dem at all. I began to "see the light" so to speak .
I applaude black americans that have changed parties and risked ridicule by their own people (calling them house ******, uncle toms, etc) becauase they actually took the time to educate themselves of other parties and their ideals.
I am not in any way saying all blacks should convert to being republicans, what I am saying is educate yourself and pick a party that is true to you. Dont just be a democrat because you believe they are "FOR" black people. Because my dears, I can guarantee you 100% they are not.
Better Yet !!!!! Pick the right person for the job, regardless of their party, choose right or wrong, not party tickets,

Democrats have purely "helped" to make blacks dependant on government and on no account upward thrust to the flair they have. Making ghettos with gangs that are actually not policed isn't powerful. i know some blacks get out. Too many don't. They circulate to faculties the place they're estimated to do poorly. I observed an agriculture practice that defined how while they supply up utilising mules interior the South, they did not choose blacks working anymore the two. Then got here welfare. Sorry maximum blacks vote democrat, yet they vote to maintain themselves down for a pittance! that's ill!

When we do away with some of the same programs that have quite simply outlived their usefulness and are now holding them back! If I was able to get "Special "treatment because I was a certain Minority(I would swear there are way fewer Redheads than Blacks-so what if we are Superior?) then I would also be going around promoting my difference! I'd get money for it!
No longer having any reason to be different would make them just be Americans, like the rest of us!

They'll realize it at the same time they realize the Dem's have only tried to keep Blacks down by perpetuating the myth that Blacks are helpless and downtrodden without them and can't get ahead without the Dem's baubles and trinkets. Right now many of them don't realize that the Dem's need them down and can not afford to have them think for themselves. Look at the way Dems speak about an extremely accomplished black woman, Sec. Rice, as an 'Aunt Jemima'! That shows what Dems really think about an 'uppity' black who would dare disagree with them. How disgusting.
Nothing perpetuated the 'myth' of black helplessness more than Dems "helped out po black folk by giving em a welfare check".

I think the real question is, why are Republicans treating blacks like garbage, and saying that they can't fend for themselves and need Papa Bush to look after them? Maybe they actually have brains and believe in democratic morals.
Also, who is it that is keeping blacks down by not allowing Washington DC to have representatives? Republicans. They don't want to because there are a lot of blacks in DC and most would vote for Democrats. I know, I'm overwhelmed by how much they want blacks to have a say.

How sad. You have your facts all wrong. Yes, Abe Lincoln was a republican and he signed the Emancipation Proclamation, but that is the only factual part of your question. You have access to a computer, google the civil rights act (there were alot of vetoes back and forth involving US Congress, etc) and voting rights act(signed by LBJ, a democrat). And BTW, the welfare act was not created exclusively for the blacks. There are actually more whites on welfare than blacks or even immigrants (who cant speak a word of English). They are called "white trash." I'm sure you're familiar with that name.

You forgot the big one. One party obviously believes African Americans can't quite handle things on their own. They need special breaks to get into a good school and get hired by a good company. The other party actually lives up to what Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. dreamed of, that people should be judged based on the content of their character, not by the color of their skin.
BTW, care to guess which president's cabinet features the most people of color in history?

Welfare was FDR, so Get your facts straight for starters. Black, white, whatever color one is is irrelevant. The problem is that gov't is involved in our lives AT ALL. No good.
