I lost my brother, 2 of my cousins, and very nearly my dad because of the stupid war. Is there ANYTHING I can do to bring them back home?

I serve. I've completed one tour and will likely do at least one more. My unit lost four members on their last deployment. In most cases, their friends, fellow soldiers, watched them die. Many of the members of my unit, suffered PTSD as a result of what they experienced in Iraq. These are the harsh realities of the job we have chosen.

Pulling US Troops out of Iraq will not stop the tragedy that is occurring in Iraq. Pulling US Troops out of Iraq will only make it easier for the US to ignore the tragedy in Iraq.

I am deeply sorry for your loss. I have also had similar war related losses. However, you must realise that if we do not conquer threats to the US and nip things in the bud, it will result in the loss of more lives. So whereas if we see this thing till the end and handle the problem, than only 3 people in your family have managed to save potentially millions of other peoples brothers, cousins and fathers.
I understand this war seems stupid, and I understand bush is a moron, but look at the end of WWII when the generals said we should take out the soviets while they'r weak, and instead everyone said "NO BRING THE TROOPS HOME", because of that we had to have the cold war later on with the soviets. Same thing with vietnam, we pulled out too soon and many people died for no reason. Think of it as your familys sacrafice has resulted in a million other families to be able to have starbucks and watch tv together at night with the air conditioning on. They are truly heros.

I am sorry for your loss but why should that loss be in vain? The only way we will get our people back home any sooner is to do whatever is neccisary to finish the job we have started. Maybe we should not have went over there under false pretences, but unfortunately we did. Now we are there and have no choice but to finish the job, the sooner the better. The only way to get it over with any sooner is to support our troops and give them whatever they need to finish the job. If they say they need 20,000 more troops, send 50,000 more troops and lets get this over with. It does not matter why we are there no more. We are there and unless we want to stay there even longer we need to use the might of the most powerful nation on earth and eliminate the problem. There is no way that ragtag bunch of terrorist could stop the might of our military if we as a nation would support them and give them what they need to finish the task at hand.

I am sorry to hear of your losses. I couldn't imagine going through something like what you are dealing with. I would tell you the best way to make a difference it to get involved. Join others in your state that feel the same about the war and go out and protest against it. Write your congressman, heck maybe write the President himself. The point to this answer is to just get involved, search the web for protest groups, start your own group ect. Hope this helps.

I'm sorry for your loss. I was going to joke and say "You could hop on a plane and go over there and make sure the media found out when you got there. The nation would pick you up as an icon."but then I read the rest of your question and that answer would be disrespectful to what your family have given to us, for us.

Wars are a stupid way of wasting human lives, hurting dozens of innocent people for every death counted. Why can't the leaders of a war just go off and fight it out on a field in private without involving whole countries?

My father grew up in Vienna during the second world war. His four uncles were killed on the Russian front as they sit in a family foto, from left to right. His father was taken prisioner in Crete. His mother was separated from him by the war when she went to England. She ended up being a British nurse and only got to see him years after the war. My mother's father was a SeaBee in the Pacific, engineering runways on atolls and anything like that.

Whats the point in telling you all that?

It is thanks to the dedication of people like your brother, your two cousins and your father, my grandfather and grandmother, that we are free. Free from people who have no respect for human lives and individual freedom. They have fought and suffered so that wrong governnents are stopped in their tracks.
It is thanks to people like you that the CORRECT governments are put in place to avoid having to send their citizens into danger for the wrong reasons.

In answer to your question, make noise. Make all the noise you can against this stupid war. Write to your congressman, talk to friends, write into your local paper and anywhere and tell people your story and why you think it is wrong for American lives to keep being torn up mindlessly. The noise has already begun and its finally getting to the right ears. America is listening up.

Other Americans have fought and died to give you that right.

P.S. I read over all this and nearly delete it. Its not really an answer to your question. Its not even entirely me. Me just wants to give you a hug for your loss. I really am sorry.

Sorry, we are all volunteers, and we know the risks we take. I hate hearing of anyone dying or being maimed, but this is the life we chose. We are warriors and if it is God's will then we shall sit at his right hand and know the pain of life is over. Everyone needs to spend less time counting the dead and giving moral support to our enemies and start cheering for us to win. If not, it will have been you folks that made their sacrifice mean nothing.

Contact your state representatives. If you want to show your appreciattion when they do come home (one at time or more), check out this website and become part of the PATRIOT GUARD. You don't have to be a vet, you don't have to be a biker. You just have to want to stand for those who have stood for us. Pass it on. Now do a search on the REASON why this group was formed. Do a search on the WESTBORO BAPTIST CHURCH, Topeka Kansas. A HATE group.

yes,do not allow people to tell you we do not belong there.know that if we leave now,all the soldiers that have died there have died for nothing.look at a map and see were the radical islams are at,and see that if we leave now,the radical islams will have a safe refuge, then even those who are close to you WILL be murdered by the radical islam.the attacks against American soil has ended because we are there,we are still threatened by the radical islam, they are already here in the states.stand up,defend your freedoms, support the troops!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
