If a politician introduces a bill just to "make a point" or for "showboating" with no intention of actually having it passed as Cynthia McKinney and Charley Rangle keep doing, should they have to pay the costs for having that legisaltion drawn up and considered by Congress out of their pockets instead of being paid for by the tax payers?

Various forms of surveillance have been ongoing for some time now, including phones, following, trespassing within our fenced property and deck, utilizing neighboring properties and locations to photograph & film--What are our rights? How can we find out who is harassing us & why--and stop them!?

People seem to take it as a given that Carter was not a good president. He took over a total disaster from the idiot Gerald Ford, the most forgettable president since Rutherford B. Hayes, stagnation and inflation, and a country totally demoralized by the Nixon mess. He had a hard time dealing with Iran, but who wouldn't? and his negotiations finally got the hostages released, just in time for Reagan, the hair dyed and rouge cheeked plastic doll, to take the credit.

I joined the army reserves back in 2003, trained for a year, cam home and was attached to a unit 4 hours away from my house (even though there was a unit 20 min. away). The driving wasn't really a problem; however, there was no position for me over there, i was communications and this was all medical personnel. I served no purpose to them. On the way to drill one weekend my truck blew a part out of my caliper and I was stranded, no way of making it there. I was low on money and had no transportation for a while, needless to say I couldn't make it to the next few drills. During this time I tried desperately to contact them... phone calls, emails, calling higher command in other places, even sent them certified mail... no response. I get a phone call one day asking where I've been... come on. They gave me the option of going back or taking a general discharge. I was so fed up with it I left, I couldn't handle their incompetence. I want in - air force, can I after all this???

As a supposed Free Country, do you think that Religion should play a role in the governing of the laws of this country? With such a melting pot of Religions and Beleifs, is it justifiable to bring those views and vote or make legislation based on Religious influence or is it best left as the constitution states. The Governement is supposed to be seperate from Federal Govt vs the Church. I feel it is a politicians duty to vote and serve the feeling of the community or state they represent and not vote their own consious beyond their own personal vote we each get. Shouldnt politicians be made to vote the way the majority of their constituents want? After all they are there to serve the people not themselves. I think too many have agendas when instead they should not be influenced by their Faith or by their consious, but have to vote the way the Majority of the area the represent. That would be true Democracy. What are some of your thoughts on this?

I don't know if this is characteristic of fire departments in my area or if this is nationwide, however, I noticed that any fire station built around the 1960's has a loud annoying siren up in a tower or directly above the building. I have not heard the siren in about 15 years or so, however, I see them all over my area. What is the purpose of this siren?

Recently the Death Penalty in CA and Florida was halted because a judge made a decision that it was inhumane. This was made because there was a Death penalty convict who was given lethal injection and it took 35 minutes for him to die because the poison was given through his veins and into his flesh. Your thoughts? I'm curious.

Or am I the only person on here that thinks we need to have an intervention at the White House A.S.A.P? This Neo-con fantasy that by our bombing of Iraq, a democracy in Iraq and Iran will rise is over. The I.A.E. commision and the C.I.A. both agree that there is nothing more than energy needs being developed with concerns to the Iraninan nuclear program and we cannot be politicized to believe that they are a threat, as we did with Iraq. I urge you all to stay on top of the facts and stay active in your political venue to continue the efforts of thwarting the defacto policies of this outgoing nightmare.

On Dec 10th, the police demanded entry to see if the tip they received about my son's safety, we were guilty partly , the cats were taken by Animal services. The only issues was the urine odor, and the fridge, the rest of the house was clean, food in the house, but due to my prior dealings with CPS, and the cops attitude towards us, prompt the worker to take our son, I think she was expecting something worse, by the way she acted. I think the cops intimidated her into taking him. This time though, I'm not going to let them get away with this. I've learned a lot of things, I'm not stupid anymore. Their threats won't intimidate me. Their in for a treat, then maybe I'll get some respect, for finally having the balls to stand up to them

Some folks don't like Hillary Clinton because she puts up with a husband who cheats. You would really be surprised at the amount of women who stay with husbands who cheat they all have reasons that are their own
That does not make them a bad person. I don't know if the democrats will fail to live up to your expectations but I'M sure they will try to run things the best they can. Remember they don't have a man in the white house. The congress and senate had a more peaceable man in Clinton then this congress and senate have with Bush He is use to doing just what he pleased when he had a congress and senate with the majority republicans. Hillary is our last great hope and don't listen to the damn naysayers.
