Bad idea.
He needs more time to mature in politics. I like the guy but we need a hard core savy politician atm. The Republicans will eat him alive, chew him up and spit him back out.

Great idea if you are a Republican. Maybe Obama is the right guy for the job but not right now. He doesn't possess the resume. There is still the obstacle of his ethnicity. Running Obama will wake up the wrong people and if he doesn't get killed literally he will get killed in the polls. This country is, unfortunately, not far enough removed from the pervasive racism of just a few decades ago, for a black man to make a viable run for that office. There are even liberals who will question a black man as president. Hard fact but still fact.
But I'm a conservative, so run him, it will be that much easier for McCain or Rudy.

Barack Hussien Obama does not have the experience to be The President of The United States of America. He has only been a Congressman for 2 years. A congressman knows how to make suggestions and be an oversight but not how to lead. Governors, Mayors and CEOs make good Presidents Congressman make good Congressman.

Barack is an amazing man! I am very surprised that so many people have answered this question by saying that they don't know much about him.
His book "Audacity of Hope" is on the best sellers list; his mother was white, his father was from Africa. He is married has 2 daughters and is a senator from Chicago. He lives by moral codes, unlike anyone in politics!! He is less concerned with party lines as he is with doing something that benefits the most people. Yes, he is new to politics but he is a breath of fresh air and a solid stable man with amazing integrity. I hope he does run, he obviously has my vote.
I live in Denver (not Chicago) and I pay attention. That is how I know of him...also,,,I TIVO Oprah and he has been on there a few times.
He is an impressive man. We should all be so proud to have him as our president.

I think everyone who "thinks" they can benefit the county and meets the requirements should run Jesse ran so did Al. I'm not supporting him because I don't think he has enough experience in politics and I am not sure where he stands on a majority of the issues. But then that has never stopped anyone from claiming the office. I hope he does run. I would like to see where he stands on the issues, or if he is just one "sound bite" after another with no real substance.

I believe that Rep. Obama has not paid his dues to run for President yet. I think the same of Sen. Clinton. Neither been in congress. Reps. that have paid their dues like Rep.Nancy Pelosie and Sen. John Edwards are deserving of running for the Presidency. They (Clinton and Obama) may one day deserve a presidential but not today.

I would say it would not be a great idea for the Democrats if they truly want to win an election.
Obama certainly is an attractive candidate, but he does not have the experience he needs to run for president at this time. I believe he would prove a weak presidential campaigner and would probably lose to any reasonably sharp opponent.
He would be best advised to spend a couple of terms in the Senate, then run for an office like governor of Illinois and then take a shot at the presidency in about 12-16 years.

I hate how people say he's inexperienced.
You know who was inexperienced? President Bush. He was a one-term Texas Governor, whose constitution allotted him such powers as "figure head" and "ceremonial ribbon cutter."
Obama on the other hand knows what the issues are and has held more positions of leadership requiring autonomy than President Bush.
So stop saying he's young and inexperienced.

I wouldn't care to vote for him, however, an Obama/Clinton ticket would be a formidable paring and one the Republicans would be hard pressed to match - at least in regards to favourable public opinion.
Sadly, most Americans do not vote upon the issues, and know little about the candidates they choose to endorse. Presidential races seem to rely more and more upon popularity rather than politics.
In short, I believe the idea is sound even if it is not one I am inclined to embrace or endorse.

1. Check out what Obama Hessein SAYS he stands for.
2. Check out how he voted in Congress.
You'll find that he is a liar and a hypocrite.
That will give him a good chance in the Democrat Primaries.
Democrat Voters are completely fooled by hypocrites and phonies.
I will support Hillary over either Obama Hussein or shyster lawyer, John Edwards.
Go Hillary.
