My sister in law is 21 years old, but severely developmentally disabled. Because her father is a Vietnam War veteran, she gets VA benefits as well as SSI beneftis and all this money is sent monthly to her mother. Her mother is remarried to a useless guy who has an 18 year old son and while my sister in law is brinigng in the majority of the family's income, she wears rags, doesn't get to do anything she enjoys doing, and the family is constantly broke. The step-brother, however, wears name brand clothes, recently bought a new car (on my sister in law's dime) and is constantly standing with his hand out ofr money that his dad (the step dad) will give him without question. My mother in law and step father in law have recently bought themselves new cars, as well. The money is supposed to be direct deposited monthly into an account with only my sister in law and mother in laws names on it, but it is deposited into the step dads account. My Mother in law is spineless and won't speak up.

Given the recent case in Wales where a brainless chimp Chav, murdered an innocent family man (and got just 2 years inside for it). I would like to know the general view on what you all think of the way the UK deals with Anti Social Behaviour. Is the Legal system effective or does it merely "soft soap" the issue without actually dealing with it?

I thought that's why we got out of England in the 1st place was to avoid having one family rule over the country.

I was called for grand jury testimony regarding a suspect which is now the defendant. The US attornies office wants me to go back and be cross-examined by the defense in a trial. I don't want to be involved with this case to begin with and was just trying to help the FBI. Now I could be labeled as a snitch. What if I skip my subpoena whats the worst that can happen to me? Will I charged with contempt of court or more?

A lot of buzz going around trying to make the Christmas season "non-exclusive" by removing religious references. I.e., saying "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas" and renaming a Christmas Tree a Holiday Tree?
Personally, I think it is a complete crock. The holiday is called Christmas. It is part of the lives of 98% of Americans. I totally reject the discriminatory claims the political correct-ers use. I have no problem with examples of other religious expression during this time of year. For example, want to put up a mennorah (sp?) in the town square? Go ahead. I think it is great. Mind you, it is a mennorah not a "holiday candelabra". I am Catholic but feel quite honored if someone wishes me a Happy Hannukah. I am not offended at all. Christmas is Christmas. Leave it be! Merry Christmas to everyone!

Cherokee County, Georgia has passed a law that makes English the official language starting 1/1/07. This means that all documentation printed by that county will be in English, not in English and Spanish. The idea is to get Spanish speaking people to learn English. The law will also fine landlords who rent to illegal immigrants. The ACLU is planning to sue, and folks are in an uproar.. Do you think this law is fair?

I seem to recall reading an article which claimed that a man was illeterate for much of his early life. His wife then taught him how to read and he went on to become the American President.

Was there ever such a President that fits this desciption? (and I don't mean Dan Quayle. He was only Vice not the Full Monty).

My husbands daughter is a terror. After I had my first child she turned nastier than nasty, I even think she tried to smother the baby once, but I could never b sure. We sent he to go live with his sister in NY, she stayed there for a year terrorizing thier family & then took off to California to see her step sister who is a pill herself. Her sister has always been telling her to come live with her in CA & we've all been trying to not let that happen, but you all know how strong wills can be. After she got there they convinced everyone that they would b just fine. And everyone else agreed fine let them terrorize eachother instead of everyone else. Now 6 months later the step sister wants child support for the daughter who is only 17, She doesn't have any history with the law, she's justa home wrecker. Anybody have any advice as to what to do now. My husband thinks he can legally disown her. is that possible. She's been going her own way for over 2 years now. What do we do now

Some people want to legalize drugs because they don't believe that such crimes can ever be eradicated and that keeping them illegal merely fuels other crimes (robbery, etc) in order to fund it.

The are lots of other crimes that will never be eradicated e.g. Murder, Rape, House-Breaking, etc

Does those supporting the legalization of drugs think that these crimes should be legalized as well ?

The Army won't let us call an M16 a gun. They claim it's a rifle instead. So, it's a gun with rifling! Everybody knows that anything that shoots bullets is a gun. Why is that so hard for the Army to understand?

What if all the people in the world started a war against all the leaders in the world. No more presidents, kings or queens, no more giant corporations pulling strings. We will create equality and end hunger. Our governments have created a disgusting world, Isn't time we take a stand. Why should we live our lives according to their rules with 9-5 jobs, schools, etc...

We are slaves of the world our governments have created. Don't you want to be free?
