I was called for grand jury testimony regarding a suspect which is now the defendant. The US attornies office wants me to go back and be cross-examined by the defense in a trial. I don't want to be involved with this case to begin with and was just trying to help the FBI. Now I could be labeled as a snitch. What if I skip my subpoena whats the worst that can happen to me? Will I charged with contempt of court or more?

My mother works at a court house. They will come to your house and put you in handcuffs then they will haul yout butt off to jail for contempt! You had better go or else you will have to pay a small fortune to get out of jail. Then you'll have your very own court day, and you'll have to pay court costs and attorney fees.

You can be charged with all sorts of things and put in prison. You really don't have a choice in the matter. You need to go.

Yes, a bench warrant will be issued and you will be arrested. You can be held until you agree to appear, or until the judge feels holding you is unlikely to change your mind.

Do the court thing and try to convince your buddies that you had no choice and hope things will go well with you.
