1. UN Security Council Resolution 242 calls on all parties to the conflict to negotiate a solution

2. It anticipates that Israel will withdraw to secure borders (not specified in the resolution) in exchange for peace guarantees from the Arab parties

The Resolution was carefully worded to require that Israel withdraw from "territories" rather than "the territories." This construction, leaving out "the," was intentional, because it was not envisioned that Israel would withdraw from all the territories, thereby returning to the vulnerable pre-war borders. And any withdrawal would be such as to create "secure and recognized boundaries."

It was widely recognized that the balancing of the ideas of a territorial return with "secure and recognized boundaries" for Israel would mean that Israel would not be forced to withdraw from 100% of the land captured in the June 1967 war. There is a dispute between the British-American understanding of the wording of the resolution and the French

What right does anyone in the world have to ask such a question? And not ask a similar question about 22 Arab states.

"The fact is that today's Palestinians are immigrants from the surrounding nations! I grew up well knowing the history and origins of today's Palestinians as being from Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Christians from Greece, Muslim Sherkas from Russia, Muslims from Bosnia, and the Jordanians next door. The civil and tribal wars between Yemenites (from Yemen) and Kessites (from Banu Kais of Saudi Arabia) ... are well known among Palestinians.

The current PLO and Arab claim (and mainstream media regurgitation of it) is indeed a very distorted version of `recorded history' and can only qualify as pure Orwellian propaganda. In fact, putting aside all the myths and propaganda, the only area that would qualify historically as truly Arab land, is the Arabian desert peninsula.

I was recently convicted of forgery in march and sentenced to 4 years probation and ordered to pay restitution ($600) I lied to the courts and said i didnt have a substance abuse problem. I am again being charged with the same crime(i wrote out checks on my ex boyfriends account while i was under the influance of meth). I knew i had a problem because i couldnt stop no matter how hard i tried. After i was arrested in July of this year i put myself on a waiting list at a local treatment center and graduated thier Intensive rehab treatment program after 8 weeks. I go to 5 self help groups a week and attend AA/NA meeting regularly and also meet with a counselor once a week. Recently i excepted a managing position at a cell phone company and am putting my life back together. i am residing in a half way house and have been clean for almost 6 months. The prosecuter in my case wants me to go to prison. my sentencing date is December 7th 06. does anyone know anyone that has been in my situation

School secretary sent sexually suggestive letters to student implying of a lesbian relationship. Student was confused and won't admit to anything other than "friendship" but has since been admitted to psych unit of hospital. Student moved out of parents home. School has dismissed the secretary, but did nothing to protect the student from this happening even after being notified by parents that there was a problem. School resource officer is a board of education member, so it looks like this incident has been swept under the rug to avoid embarrassment to the school district. Parent of student is also a board member.. Secretary is threatening to sue school district because of being let go. Parents have suffered severe emotional distress relating to this incident and relations with student are non-existent as of now. I feel like the school did nothing to protect my child from this and when they were told what was happening, they did no investigating of any kind.

(Nov. 22) - Bloggers and website owners cannot be sued for posting libelous or defamatory comments written by third parties, the California Supreme Court has ruled. The court said only the original authors of comments published online can be sued.

Legal analysts say the 34-page decision, issued Monday, is significant because it brings California in line with other court rulings across the nation that have upheld the 1996 federal Communications Decency Act, which protects website owners from legal liability in libel or defamation lawsuits.

"Bloggers and website owners can all breathe a very big sigh of relief," says Gregory Herbert, an Orlando lawyer who specializes in First Amendment issues. "This decision adds more uniformity to the law and reduces the risk for liability for even individuals who are posting things onto website message boards and chat rooms."

Do you agree with the decision of the court?

My ex-husband is dying and I need to know who is responsible for funeral expenses since he has no insurance. We have been divorced over 25 years but he came to my sister and I when he needed help of any sort. I had no objection to helping him out when I could since he was the father of my children but I am not financially able to handle his funeral expenses. I believe that his brothers and sisters expect me to. I really need advice on this one.
