As a disabled veterans who has been in the gulf, my feeling is we already lost the war. I am angry because we should have never been there in the first place. Now my fellow soldiers are caught in a civil war that puts them in the middle of their fighting.

Their were no terrorists in Iraq until we invaded. This invasion created a base of extremists that joined the Al Qaida group to fight our soldiers.

This war is not winable! It's a guerrilla war, something our soldiers are not trained to fight!

There might not be a clear way to win the war- Short of pulling out and nuking the whole sorry lot, but we definitely aren't losing. They plant IEDs and use VBIEDs to inflict the most damage they are capable of- which in the big picture isn't a lot. We have the best freakin' military in the world- which we have proved time and time again. There's no way that a bunch of rag heads that hide behind women and children are going to "win" the war. At the very most they will succeed in killing each other off to the point that we can come home. But until then they're going to keep trying to blow each other up, and we're going to keep on trying to stave off the impending civil war. There will be no wins, or losses this time around.

We won the war. Saddam was overthrown and a democratically elected government was put in its place. Iraq will have all the police and soldiers by the end of the year that the U.S. thinks that Iraq needs. Over 1,000 projects have or will be built including hospitals, schools, utilities and police stations. There are three or four hot spots in a country with the size and population of California, which has about the same amount of violence.

I don't no how the people will feel, but I think the families that lost children will feel, they sacrificed their children for nothing. And to your first answer person. We tried everything diplomatically to get rid of Saddam, he didn't give a dam what the UN said to him, he did what he wanted, violated 17 UN resolutions, he was a dictator and dictators don't give a dam what anybody has to say. I think we won the war Saddam is no longer in power, their is a new government, it is just the sectarian violence that is keeping this going and the outside fighters from Iran and Syria.

How do you feel about: Wal-Mart being car bombed. Your kids schools being held hostage? You having a nice day at the Mace's parade and BOOOOMMM!! 2500 Americans lay dead and mangled in the streets.

Why?? WHY?? Is it we forget so quickly as Americans the TERRORISTS started the WAR.

1) Saddam had WMD's...He Gassed the Kurds..

2) Saddam was linked the Terror Organizations

3) Saddam kept the UN peacekeepers from doing their Job

4) The Sanctions imposed by the UN did not work. Saddam still made enough money to build 10 palaces.

5) Saddam and the Bathe party deserved to be ousted. On grounds of Moral Injustice to people in which they ruled.

Thanks

Some say we already have. I am here in Iraq and we have lost 19 soldiers in my unit since we have deployed. I would hate to think they gave the ultimate sacrifice in vain.

As I don't believe this will happen, I'll approach it from the other side. I will feel relief when our people have finished what we started and they come home (for the most part) We likely will maintain a base of operations in the region for a long time to come. (Think Japan, Germany, Korea, etc.)

I am curious who this "WE" is you refer to...you have posted similarly toned questions recently. I certainly feel that people who hate their country as much as some I see posting Q's and A's here are not part of the "WE" I am a part of.

There can't be a classification of winning or losing for the occupancy in Iraq. It's not a war. It's a false war based on lies by politicians and cherry-picked intelligence.

The US invaded that country without a declaration of war.

We have not lost a single battle in the war. Things arent as bad as the media is saying. If the other muslims have their way Iraq will be forgotten in a world war. With democrats running things we might just redeploy (retreat)
