Was Britain founded on freedom? I've never heard that. Another thing i am not keen on is rupert murdoch buying into ITV, itv presumably is our greatest source of unbiased media and now its being eroded and diminished.

This is a little off subject but reminds me of a conversation I had a few days ago. In that conversation, I was saying that I truly believe ppl alive today are living in the 'best of times'.
Why do I believe this? Because we have all the commodities of oil products such as plastic etc... making for a lot of luxury and the fact that we are not quite yet completely controlled by big brother. That day is coming sooner than ppl realize.

Absolutely!!
They are a bunch of corrupt me-me-me people.
Surely in this age of computers there is someone who could devise a way of the average person having an input into the decision making of the country via their home computers.
From going on to yahoo answers for a few months now, it has taught me that you will get a few daft answers, lots of well meaning, sensible answers, and a few who really make you think. That sounds like a generally acceptable response to me. Sharing in the decision making of the country would make most people much more attuned to what is going on in the world and would make them better at moving the country forward. Greed and corruption would become a thing of the past, and think of the money we could save on Tony, Dave and Ming's wages! Like most people I hate Tony and his cronies, but the rest don't inspire me too much (give Nigel Farage a try).
Good question though.

Yes I do! Personally i believe we can and should as soon as possible. This United nation needs to riot one day and i mean the intire nation. Wake up walk outside and protest about everything more vacation days more pay, better living conditions cheaper someone will have to do something because if every store doesn't make money from anyone for one whole day or two the economy will suffer, if business don't have employees they won't run. Corporate America will have to listen and listen good. We can do anything we want as American Citizens it is our right. Anything we want!

Who says that we dont want what happens.... just because u dont. Id cards= bang on, who cares about our rights to privacy, we carry driving liscenses dont we and if it cuts down crime that cant be a bad thing. Immigrants, so long as not illegal, is fine. Brings in culture that to be quite frank we need. We dont want to turn into america. The war was bad, but achieved gettin rid of a monster, so had good aspects.
And as for ITV bein impartial- where do you live???

Interesting point, especially since the government has been on a crusade of taking rights away, spying on us, and planning to take more rights away. Oddly enough, this is going on in a country that was founded upon the basic principle of freedom: do what you want, as long as you're not infringing on others. So apparently spying on us, ruling the media with the FCC, and trying to act like our parents instead of our government are all done in the name of freedom.

Everyone over 18 years of age has the opportunity to get rid of a government... at the elections. Poor politicians are elected by GOOD people... who don't bother to vote... So, if you're cheesed of with Tony (and soon to be Gordon) and their crowd... then vote for a suitable alternative (If there is one! - I think Dave is Tony's buddy really - and Ming... a name true to a dynasty that died out years ago). So... there's your answer, like it or not.

We are the government. If everyone actually voted, expressed informed opinions to their elected representatives and did their civic duty to ensure laws are followed we might have a lot fewer problems than we do today.

We should simply change the law so Politicians can go on trail for their actions in government after they leave government.
You would find a remarkable change in government actions and performance
