Let me tell you a secret. My grandfather was a cop back in the 50's and 60's. He told me that when they found some guy was molesting kids, they would take him and have his balls cut off, no judge, no joke. Now a lot of people say that is unfair or mean, but I ask: Is it more unfair that some innocent men may be mutilated, or that some kid gets molested in the future because the state didn't GUARANTEE that the guy couldn't do it again? Since we know we cannot have perfect justice, only trade-offs between alternatives, which is more fair? I like the old system, and there was a lot less of that crap going on back then.

Not to sound barbaric but I believe that both Child molestation and rape should be a capital offense as it has been through out history and still is in several other countries.Sorry if this outlook is harsh to you but i have first hand experience in this issue and live in a city that has one of the highest densities of sexual predators in the nation.

First offense. At least a five year prison sentence with intensive psychotherapy. Lifelong parole would be required, and should only be granted upon the recommendation of a psychiatrist that parolee is not threat to children.

Upon second offense, life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.

Truthfully, and this may sound harsh, but death. This person will never be able to live in our society, they never change. That poor child has lost it's innocence and has suffered which will affect them until thier death. Not only will it haunt thier dreams it will affect their relationships with others (friends, family, and future spouse) it will affect school, thier future job and it will touch everything they touch. Even with counsiling these children will always live with that, and will have to deal with it. So I feel either death or life in prison. If the child molester was to ever get out of prison, that child would live in fear knowing that person is free. And he/she will hurt another child.

Crimes against innocent children are especially heinous. I would suggest that these offenders be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and receive mandatory life sentences with the possibility of parole only if they serve a minimum sentence to be determined by the probation department working in conjunction with a psychology unit. These kinds of criminals hardly ever change, they must be punished with extreme prejudice. The vile nature of their crime is proof of their instability and lack of morale.

In the past, people would get stoned for crimes like that - where a group of angry people would surround the offender and throw stones until he/she is dead.

The mere fact that some of these offenders commit the act more than once, means that the current system is not working.

capital punishment.
Society doesn't need people like that around. Even if they have served their time, we shouldn't let people like that walk around. We shouldn't support murders and child molesters for a life time in prison either. Our prisons are overcrowded & we keep building more. I say eliminate the problem.

Child molesters / pedophiles should be given life in prison without parole. Their sentence should be served in Super Max and they should be housed in the general population.

Lifetime ankle bracelet monitoring. No residence within 5 miles of a school. Must update sex offender registry if one relocates.

Any violation of the above rules will result in lifetime incarceration.

I think that they should go to prison, and when they get out that they have to register in the city where they live and... that they should be required to have a sign in the front yard saying a sex offender lives here.
