I say that Americanos give us 1/2 of their country as we do all the hard work while they sip iced teas telling me to hurry up and cut the grass and stop looking at their 19 year old daughter.

So do I write to the Bush and tell him what we want?

This looks like another case of Republicans honoring those who served our country in words and not dollars.

The great majority of US Veterans are charged $8.00 for a prescription. Wal*Mart is charging $4.00.

Since the elections, We have heard very little about the remaing problem of illegal immigration, AKA, Criminal trespass. This forum has turned into a farce, and it seems that the solution is still a long ways off. What is the next logical step to be taken in order to come to a workable solution?

Why did the Republicans think they were going to sway voters in their favor by lowering gasoline prices weeks before the elections? Isn't it obvious that it was the Republicans who allowed gas prices to fall weeks before their election? Or is it just some crazy coincidence that gas prices have begun to rise steadily after their defeat in Capitol Hill?

I see that so many people compare Hitler and Bush. I don't like Bush, but if you compare Hitler to him, then it looks you don't know very much about Hitler. I would really like to know if the people who say so know anything about Hitler and his crimes. I would like to know if you ever had lessons at school about Hitler and what you learned there. I also wonder where do the people who say this come from. Is it true that this is something American liberals say?
I am German and I have learned about Hitler and what all he did.
If you want to express how you hate Bush, why is it necessary to compare him to Hitler? Is it not possible to use some other words? Why do you have to play down Hitler's crimes?

According to the twisted logic recently espoused by Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld, the failure to support illegal, immoral and unnecessary wars defines one as a terrorist. Let me be clear about where I stand: I know who the real terrorists are, and can name each one of them—Rumsfeld among the rest.



Everywhere you go in America you see the slogan, “Support our troops.” You see it on bumper stickers, storefronts, flags and banners, yellow ribbons and even in the windows of private homes. But what does it mean to support our troops? Is it to send them into harm’s way; to invade and occupy sovereign nations in illegal wars for empire? Is it to ask them to commit heinous crimes, to maim and to kill innocent civilians; to torture, insult, and to humiliate people who have done us no harm? Is it to steal the natural wealth that belongs to other nations and turn it over to American corporations?

If that is what it means, then I cannot support our troops. I cannot wish them well if their purpose is conquer other people, and plunder the wealth of other countries that have done us no harm. That would require me to endorse crimes against humanity conducted under the guise of national security and patriotism. I cannot do that—I will not. It is simply wrong.

Neither should we, as we so often do, confuse supporting our troops with supporting the president, or wrongful and immoral policies of corrupt government. The president and his ilk do not support our troops or he would not use them as pawns; he would take care of them when they come home broken and torn with psychic scars. He does not care about them—they are only a means to an end.

No, the best way to support our troops is to take a principled stand; to hold the moral high ground—to bring them home alive and whole. A government must not be allowed to require any of its citizens to engage in immoral or criminal behavior on its behalf. When a government behaves like a crime syndicate it does not mean that the people should follow its example—they must provide a better alternative, and refuse their allegiance to it.

So if the failure to support a government’s wrongful policies makes me a terrorist—so be it. If speaking truth to power makes one a terrorist—sign me up; move me to top of the NSA and FBI lists of suspects. Send forth the assassins with their rifles. If exposing the lies and corruption that attends power makes me a terrorist—I will proudly wear the crown and bear the cost. I will cheerfully take my place alongside other terrorists with names like Thoreau, Debs, King, Gandhi, Einstein, Zinn, and Christ.

Do people know that cops are trained to abuse people, beat them up, plant evidence on them, give false testimony against them, etc, it's all in a book written by a guy, Rothmiller, a book "L.A. Secret Police", he tells how they are trained to abuse people, do all these awful things, they are taught especially to hate and abuse blacks, one black man was just walking home from work, the cops called him over to their car, made him put his hands on the door of the cop car, they smashed his hands with the club, Rothmiller tells it all in his book, i haven't even read it all yet and already there is so much about how cops are taught to be abusive and all the horrible, rotten things they do, and they get away with it, remember Rodney King and there have been others, the only time they get caught is when someone has a camera phone or video camera and even then they get away with what they do, they always come up with excuses and claim the guy was resisting arrest, they are taught all excuses.
