Pick one.

Look at your local shelters. Battered women's programs. Salvation Army. Check with your Church. Be creative.

I put on Santa costume and deliver presents to children in hospitals on Christmas eve. There are endless ways you can make a contribution at Christmas time.

My question is: what about the other 364 days?

The local Salvation Army has lots of families in need--you can give them a call! Also, hospitals and universities are usually good places--they are usually asked to find people to help local families in need. I work at a local college, and we have a tree of numerous kids in need and what they would like for Christmas--the school coordinates the donations and sees the items get to the kids. You could start there!

Also, nursing homes are especially lonely places during Christmas, and often the residents need someone to show a little kindness--you might be interested in that!

Get everyone to donate toys and food. etc. then drive to the poorest part of your town. Scope out a house that has children and note the address. Package it all up and mail it to them without a return address or any way of them identifying the sender.
