General libertarian philosophy hinges on liberty. You rliberty ends where mine begins. Poluution is an infringement on ALL of our liberties, and our children's liberties. SO my guess, candidate unseen, is that they are for preserving the environment and passing a small amount of legislation mandating businesses to do the same.

My personal view is: You have the right to do what you want with your own property; but you don't have the right to crap in your neighbor's yard; pee in his water supply; fill his air supply with smoke; or throw your trash where someone else has to clean it up. And therefore the state should have the power to prohibit or regulate such actions.
