Why did the Republicans think they were going to sway voters in their favor by lowering gasoline prices weeks before the elections? Isn't it obvious that it was the Republicans who allowed gas prices to fall weeks before their election? Or is it just some crazy coincidence that gas prices have begun to rise steadily after their defeat in Capitol Hill?

Gas futures rose as a result of the Democrats taking office, knowing full well that they do not comprehend the importance of this resource!

Thanks so much for asking! I'm glad I could clear that up for you!

You can spin it either way. The problem arises when we claim it was done for political gain and really don't know! That's what our politicians do. By following their pattern we'll become just like them: Overpaid, under worked ego maniacs attempting to make the masses believe they are working for us.

You may think one party forced the prices lower and then higher. But, what if the giant oil companies are really in control and do what they feel like?

If the Republicans or, Bush if you like, were smart enough to know that lowering the price of oil would bring them the vote.. What happened? Wouldn't raising the prices directly after a lost election be cause enough for the Democrats to freak out and whip out their ethics and investigation panels?

I think your thinking is part of the problem, you read sites that cry conspiracy then go around spreading conspiracy. Fact is, most of those I speak with that believe the way you do, really know very little.

Now I'm not a big reader or do I study real hard, but for crying out loud! You have a computer, use it to study a little. It will make you a better person.

The gas prices generally do drop after the travel season. If you did not have economics class in high school here is how it works: when demand for gas is high (summer) the price is also high and the supply is lower (also increases the price). When demand is lower (winter , less travelers due to things like bad weather and school) prices are lower. There is also outside influences such as how much China bids for the oil (our biggest competitor for foreign oil).
Since the Dems are so great and using your theory that the political party controls gas prices why did they go up now that the Dems won the house and senate?

Gas at local stations near me went up just before the elections and have actually dropped 6 cents a gallon since the elections. How do you explain that?

The free market made gas prices go low. Don't u watch Squawk Box on CNBC? There is a strong prediction of a bearish oil market this winter. Sorry no Republican or Democrat influence in the free market.

LOL. You are not very bright are you? So if gas prices went down in 2 months you would have said that the democrats are looking out for the common man.

The prices here keep going down. Reg unleaded $1.95 per gallon. How do the republicans change the price of a consumer driven market? Maybe it was George W or maybe it was aliens.

Anti Sharia regulation could be to guard U.S. voters from dropping no longer hassle-free gained freedom. the only one I even tend to have faith that would not like Jews is Obama. He made that completely sparkling given the way he has dealt with Israeli best Minister Netanyahu on his visits to the USA.
