Having a general understanding of the way the U.S. economy works, or at least, should work, the generally democratic statement that their party will raise taxes on the rich is illogical, economically.

So that makes me wonder:

Do those people who make that statement not understand economics?

Or

Do they make that statement because they know people who vote democrat don't understand economics and they are deceiving them to achieve their own agenda?

Bush had done things that the Democratic Party would never dream of doing because of the liberals' moral and conserving values.

Liberals are just a bunch of uneducated idiots.

I bet liberals don't even know who Leo Strauss is.

since 9-11 a huge part of the GOP's message has been: "be afraid, a terrorist could pop out from anywhere and kill you"

the democrats seem to take a more rational approach and although they talk about police action for terrorists, do not seem to be so reactionary.

is it that conservatives are just more emotional and less rational, more inclined to fight because they are more xenophobic, or just less able to resolve issues?

note: just watch the furious and irrational reactions to even asking such a question. this will be my exhibit A

Should they just outright oppose everything Bush says or does, or should they try to work with him. By that, I don't mean give in to everything, but try to work out a comprise.

In other words, will they actually try to get some work done, or be a do-nothing congress?

I received a parking ticket from the city of Ann Arbor, MI. I paid the ticket on time. However when i viewed the check online after it cleared my bank, the city changed the amount of the check. They had written over my numbers to change the amount the check was for!!! This was the city government doing this!!

The amount of change is rather minimal, but I still feel like this action is illegal. Can someone out there with legal experience offer some advice. Should I file a complaint?

"Saddam showed none of the bravado of Sunday, when he shouted "Long live the people and death to their enemies!" as another court sentenced him to the gallows for the deaths of nearly 150 Shiite Muslims following a 1982 assassination attempt against him in the town of Dujail."

I am in Ontario Canada. My old landlord just mailed me a bill for repairs he said I caused. I had offered to paint and clean before I moved and they declined. Now they are saying they had to paint, clean, replace blinds because of damage. I moved on a Friday and the new tenant was in on the Saturday and they billed me for 38 hours of painting? My boss co-signed and they threatened to sue him if I didn't pay. Who can I call? I don't want to loose my job. My boss is mad but I can't afford to pay these guys of neither. What can I do?

I havent decided and could use some input. Lieberman has been there for 18 years and is good, but he does side with Bush alot.
Ned Lamont is new and doesnt have much experience with this, but I have a problem with him because he does live in one of the wealthiest towns in CT and you would think at heart he would really be a Republican
