Yes, pot is illegal, and liquor isn't, but don't you think there's another reason for that? Think about it: People die from alcohol poisoning all the time. How many people have EVER died (I'll give you a hint. The answer is zero) from smoking too much pot? The reason pot is illegal is because the government hasn't figured out a way to make a profit off it yet. You can grow pot yourself, so you don't need to buy it from the store, and therefore pay taxes on it. However, it is a lot easier to buy liquor from the store rather than make it yourself, hence the profits. Do you agree or disagree? Why? Not trying to start any fights, just want a little friendly debate and honest opinions.

A billion and counting. That's how much Halliburton and it's subsidiaries are being charged with stealing, misusing and abusing so far in Iraq.

These conclusions are based in 13 different oversight hearings conducted by both the House and the Senate.

So, is it a form of treason to steal from your own government in a war zone during a time of war? Soldiers have been shot for doing just this? Why not some non-soldiers?

Do you have an idea how much money it takes? If Mexicans had the money required for visas they wouldn't need to come here to work for $8/hr. mowing lawns.

Do you know how long it can take to get a visa? Sometimes many years. Most people have the God-given drive to find a way to feed their families when they are starving. This is just common sense. Drastic times call for drastic measures.

Many Mexicans lose their very lives on the journey here. They have to deal with robbers who lay in wait for them, Immigration looking for them, Minutemen, no food, no water, no money, extreme weather conditions, poor traveling conditions (hopping trains, packed liked sardines in trucks, etc.) It's worth the risk to them for the chance of a better life and a chance to escape poverty. How many lazy Americans won't even walk across the street to apply for a job at McDonalds because it's a shorter walk to the mailbox to p/u the welfare check?

I have been in a couple discussions about stem cell research and abortion, and I have noticed that many people who have responded are very ignorant. I know there two things you never talk about with people: Politics and Religion. But why attack those people who speak of this with ignorant responses? One thing I cannot tolerate is stupid people. And this world is filled with them. Abortion is wrong through and through, whether or not it can help people. Todays society is trying to play God. It is quite sickening. Is everyone as naive as they seem? Or are they just ignorant?

Many of the questions as well as the answers on here make me think that people talk just to talk. You are putting down a group of people that have a great influence in the daily lives you lead. How many of you go and eat Mexican food? How many of you use products made in Mexico? How many of you can sit there and not feel bad as you eat the fruits and vegetables picked by those people you consider "lazy Mexicans"? Ask yourself, how much of all the comments you hear actually have something to back it up. You are labeling a whole race, the Mexican People, by what a small portion of people are doing. So my question to you is, how can you be so damn hypocritical??

The line for the girls' room just got longer.

Men who live as women can now legally use women's rest rooms in New York's transit system under an unprecedented deal revealed yesterday.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority agreed to allow riders to use MTA rest rooms "consistent with their gender expression," the Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund announced yesterday.

The group filed a complaint against the MTA on behalf of a 70-year-old telephone repair technician who was arrested for using the women's room at Grand Central Terminal.

The technician, who is assigned to the terminal by Verizon, was born Henry McGuinness but now goes by Helena Stone.

"I'm a 24-hour woman," Stone declared proudly. "I just feel like a woman and I like to wear women's clothes."

The MTA would not comment on the settlement but Stone's lawyer said it also includes mandatory transgender sensitivity training for MTA employees and a $2,000 payment to the technician for legal fees.
