My parked car was hit by a minor. I had to drive to the police station, after the girl gave me her name and #, to file a report because she was distraught and wanted to go home. The parents of this minor are making it very difficult for me to get my car fixed. I got 1 estimate and they said they will not pay for it since I am not going through their guy. I was directed by Toyota to a reputable place and that is where I want my car fixed. I am a single mother w/ 2 jobs and don't have time to drive around shopping for the cheapest price for someone who is at fault. I am not asking them to cut me a check. I want them to pay this place directly. I just want my car fixed. If they won't pay what other steps should I take to ensure that they do? Is this considered a hit and run?

I'm referring to log files and stuff from internet service providers... Is forensic evidence the correct term, or how do you refer to log file evidence in a way that non-technical folks can understand what you're talking about? I've got some subpoena'd log files from an ISP proving something a police officer told my boss about my use of the internet is not true, but I don't know how to refer to it in the complaint so that a 60yr old police cheif will know I've got concrete evidence without confusing him with technical jargon...

Who would want to live that way? Every time I see a trailer park it is surrounded by a high fence with razor-sharp barbed wire across the top. Is this to keep people in or out? I don't get it. People shouldn't be treated like dangerous animals but deserve to be treated with a fair amount of decency and kindness. Only violent felons deserve to live within a high, razor-sharp fenced-in environment Am I wrong? This must be a violation of the law.

If you were paid $100,000/yr, for example, to stop illegal immigrants from entering the USA, where would you go, what means would you use, force, diplomacy, threats, etc? Who would you target?

P.S. You would be paid by the federal government, all the health and dental benefits you could imagine, and moving and living expenses too.

How devoted would you be to your new job?

(That's twice as many dead as under Sadaam's entire two decade rule.)

Just wondering what the "Semper Fi" set has to say.

I'm sure it was worth it.. right?

If you read the UN resolution on NK -http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,220637,00.html - you see that the UN is toothless. And, isn’t that better than if they could arbitrarily set their sites on the US? Mightn’t this facilitate our divorce from the UN?

If I were President, this is what I would do:

1. Take care of National Security. Iraq and all Middle Eastern countries, North Korea, and any other threat to us. This includes ENFORCING laws against illegal immigrants.

2. Taking care of that would take care of the illegal immigration problem.

3. That would take care of most of our National Debt, by getting our troops out of these countries and by stopping the millions of dollars that go to illegal immigrants.

Seriously, they need to stop being a bunch of wusses in Washington and get something done. This war should have been over before now.

How about if the parents are serving in the US armed forces and the child is born on a US military base abroad or the child is born at a US embassy abroad.

Had the Peace Democrats succeeded it is likely slavery would have continued and the Confederate States of America would have been allowed to secede from the Union and the United States would be remain a nation divided today. Lincoln’s presidency would have been a disgrace and he would have been forever labeled the president that broke the Union.

Peace Democrats. Many Democrats within this group hoped that the Union could be salvaged, but felt that military means were not justified. This faction asserted the following:
•The North was responsible for pushing the South into secession
•The Republicans were committed to establishing racial equality, a prospect opposed by many working class immigrants who wanted to protect their low-paying jobs and by racists
•Lincoln had become a tyrant and was bent upon destroying civil liberties
•The war was a national tragedy and must be ended, even if that meant granting independence to the Confederacy.

Does this sound familiar?
