They are the best and brightest our country has to offer. Our military is the most educated and talented on the planet. Often times, they forgo lucrative jobs in the private sector just so they can defend our freedom and way of life for little pay.

Don't we owe them a decent standard of living? How about getting rid of welfare for starters, and then ending foreign aid? The surplus could be used to boost our soldiers pay to at least on par with what university professors like Ward Churchill and Al Gore make. And we would be getting a HELL of a lot more value out of our money for it.

I'm 21 years old and currently live in South Australia. I want to move to Victoria but there is things stopping me like in South Australia i am on parole and in victoria, I have warrants. If I took off to Victoria, and found a place and a stable job, will I be locked up again or not?

If you answer this YES! then you will vote out all the republicans
this election, vote for independents not democrats unless there is
nothing else to do. These two parties are basically the same and
controlled by the money machine of lobbyist who will pay them off

My 27-year-old husband is thinking about going into law enforcement after serving as a Naval Officer. He had thyroid cancer last year and is fine now. He had his entire thyroid removed and now takes synthroid. Other than that, he is as healthy as can be. I know they check your medical background. Does anyone know if this would be a problem if he is trying to get a job as a police officer? We are going to check around here but just wondering if anyone knew. We are in So. Cal. Thanks!!!

Is there anything at ALL that could be said by your political opponents that would change your political affiliation? For example, is there anything a conservative could say that would make a liberal change their mind about abortion? Or is there anything a liberal could say that could change a conservative's mind about the war in Iraq?

So, if people are so steadfast in their views, why do they think they can modify other's views? Aren't we just wasting our time arguing about the issues that are so politicized? Don't people realize that these arguments start and end with nobody changing their viewpoints? How dumb.

Consider these examples:
-can anyone convince an atheist that God exists? No (waste of time)
-can anyone convince a Liberal that we should stay in Iraq? No way.
-can anyone convince a Conservative that Bill Clinton was a great president? No way
-can anyone convince a militant minority group that racial profiling is an appropriate tactic? No way.

even with a better quality of life, why does the world think that US is the best country, i was born here but i woulnd not die for it. the US only hurts other countries...kids working in sweatshops for "important designers" US people usually visits OUR countries because they can pay for thinsg that are illegal here in the US ...child prostitution..illigal medicine..and so on. why dont we expand our options to make a living in other countries?..Europe for example
