i was just wondering why do we migrate to the US when there are other countries?

even with a better quality of life, why does the world think that US is the best country, i was born here but i woulnd not die for it. the US only hurts other countries...kids working in sweatshops for "important designers" US people usually visits OUR countries because they can pay for thinsg that are illegal here in the US ...child prostitution..illigal medicine..and so on. why dont we expand our options to make a living in other countries?..Europe for example

I don't think you've really thought about this in great depth. The U.S. has a great economy, a booming job market, and high quality of life. The opportunities here are limitless.

Yes, there are problems with the United States. There are problems everywhere. But I'd much rather be an American (especially as a woman!) than live in Afghanistan, China, Thailand, Turkey, or any other number of countries, wouldn't you?

Europe has it's own problems. Universal health care sounds nice, but it has significant drawbacks-- do some research on it, it's really fascinating.

I don't think my grandparents would have made the voyage from Italy in the middle of a war if this weren't a country of incredible hope and opportunity.

Incidentally, the U.S. has laws AGAINST sweatshops, child prostitution, and drugs--- the reason corrupt Americans leave the US to indulge in these things is because they can't do them in America. Think about it.

I'm guessing your very young. Get a passport and move to another country. Any country. Live there about 5 years. Then ask your question. I'm sure you have heard of the "American Dream"? So whats the french dream? Or the Iran dream? If your female and move to ANY Islamic state, you would be dead in minutes after you arrived and they find out you are female and american. Don't forget to cover your face. Lots of countries have laws that prohibit gun ownership. You would think them a utopia. Crime is through the roof. France has lots of social programs that insure jobs and vacation time (paid vaction no less) and the list goes on and on. Should be a utopia there right? There are places that the police will not go in and around Paris because its too dangerous. Corruption abounds almost every where you go. People die because war lords control the flow of food and medicine. Try india and you will find a cast system. If your at the bottom of the cast, you will never go anywhere or do anything. In this country any one with a little backbone and ambition can do anything. Look at Bill Gates. A total nerd is the richest man in the world.

So you are unwilling to die for America? Ok. What country do you believe in so strongly that you would? I hope you are greatful to those who were willing to die for it so you could have a place like this to live in. I also hope you grow up and move out to some other country. Just pack your crap and leave. I don't think you have a clue how lucky you are to be here. Where in Europe will you go? Germany? France? Yes please go. Don't come back till you would be willing to die to insure that your children and grand children would be able to have it.

By the way the reason they go there for child prostitution is that in this country that is going to get them in jail. In other countries its legal. Why is that? Why do foreign governments allow that?

Because other countries have immigration laws themselves?
Many European countries already have plenty of immigrants, illegal and legal, and are suffering from their own economic problems. Some provide social services but others do not. I don't know of a single country except the US that won't try to ship you right back to your home nation if they catch you there illegally.

At least most immigrants from Mexico, Central and South America can find some job in their own nations and aren't starving to death. They just come here to make more money, not any money. If we just open our borders to anyone why not the starving and totally devastated un-economied regions of the earth like Darfur? Somehow I doubt those people will be sending money back to their country to buy big TV's and retirement homes for when they abandon the US and take their $$ with them as I heard is common for illegal immigrants here on a reputable public radio show.

Ireland has the highest standard of living in the whole world. If you are talking about Latinos, it's just because it's the closest country. Some of them actually do go to Europe mostly Spain and England.

This is the best country in the world, and if you wouldn't put your life on the line to defend your country - you should move out. There are other counries to live in for those of you who don't care about America.

The USA is the best country in the world (though we're not perfect). You do know there is child prostitution and illegal medicine and gang bangers and murderers and other criminals in countries besides the US. You don't "like" the US but you would rather live here because you have it good. You should move to France where the pansies are who like to live good and be protected, but fail to stick up for themselves.

Because the poor illegals cannot travel to europe and europe would require them to be legal or send them back. Our country doesn't car if illegals are breaking the law. But let any citizen break any law and they are all over them.

because of the American Dream thats been put into peoples minds since they found the US. Theres always been better opprotunity here because we were always so advanced and stuff like that. we provided more and were one of the greatest countries.
