The First Amendment says:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof."

So, how is prayer in school, a public display of the Ten Commandments, or a Nativity scene an establishment of a religion?

For there to be an establishment of a religion there MUST BE:

1. A belief in a Supreme Being;

2. A creed (set of beliefs);

3. Rites and ordinances;

4. Ministers -- to teach about God and his will;

5. Tests -- piety of life, accountability to God's will.

It seems the atheists and secularists are INTOLLERANT of religion and religious people. It is they WHO INHIBIT FREEDOM of worship and expression.

It is the courts who have CHANGED the way things use to be. David Barton points out that it wasn’t until Abington v. Schempp in 1963, that, “the Court made its first open and absolute repudiation of the Bible ... in public affairs"

Called the Military Commissions Act of 2006, the bill abandons the Geneva Convention (formed after Hitler's atrocities in WWII), legalizes the torture of U.S. citizens, suspends all civil rights for prisoners and allows the President to declare virtually anyone to be an "enemy combatant" -- artists, writers, scientists, protestors or anyone who does not agree with the pro-war stance of the current regime.

Imagine if FDR faced the same crap 60 years ago. Imagine if Congress, the media, and bloggers second-guessed every decision he made. Imagine if people say he arranged the attacks on Pearl Harbor. Imagine if, after D-Day, the opposition party decided we took too many American boys had given their lives fighting the Nazis. Would we have still won the War?

Don't get me wrong, Bush is no FDR. Not even close. But what if...

A disgraced nation

What the U.S. Congress has done is beyond shameful. The rest of the world now sees the United States as a rogue nation, led by a power-grabbing madman who has, in six short years, taken us to the threshold of Police State tyranny, all while claiming to be protecting the Constitution.

She left me when our daughter was 6 moths old to be with a guy who she met on te internet. I was taking my daughter,now 2/12, four days a week and she just up and left her with her disabled sister and mother. I did sign the paternity papers and the birth certificate. I also give her $75 a week for her. well anyway my ex's sister who now has my daughter and also lives with her mom in a town 2 hours a way, will not allow me to see her at all but my mother takes her on the weekends, do I have the right to go and just take her.There has never been a court hearing or anything such as that? The mother had another babyiin the mean time and just gave it away to her sister also. I want to give my daughter a stable home with my wife and our new baby. She does not need to be tossed around and I do not feel i should have to fight in court...she is mine and rightfully so, please help me understand my rights as a father. like I said no one ever had any kind of court custody or gaurdianship

If we are to know the innocence which God intends for us to have, we should be careful on November 7th. Our government should consist of people who respect their responsibilities as public figures.

Why is it that I hear so many people regurgitating phrases of the administration? For example, “Cut and Run,” and “Stay the course,” and all the others. Why do people use these phrases like they actually mean something? Don’t they know these are just catch phrases used to sucker people into believing what the administration says? Why don’t people think for themselves?
