If we are to know the innocence which God intends for us to have, we should be careful on November 7th. Our government should consist of people who respect their responsibilities as public figures.

We will have leaders when there is NO compensation for serving...no salary, no free golf, no junkets...no nothing or certain jail time...then only patriots would apply.

A few tidbits from Scripture come to mind to me......

For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. -- Jesus

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. -- Jesus

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

God instituted the system of human government immediately after the great Flood (Genesis 9:6), and has never changed this. Furthermore, God sometimes may, for His own purposes, place even wicked men in positions of power (e.g., Nebuchadnezzar—note Jeremiah 27:5-7; Daniel 4:17).

The sad fact is that the heart of man is "deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked". And even for the remnant "few" that find the way of life, that is to say those truly born again, we are still flawed and subject to temptations and various lusts of the flesh that can cause us to work in our own best interest rather than the greater good, that is the best interest/needs of the people. Since the vast majority of our leaders are, in my opinion, not saved, we cannot expect that they will lead, judge, and legislate with righteousness and selfless devotion to their elected office. We should expect the antithesis. Sometimes when a nation brings reproach upon itself through the collective wickedness of the masses, ( Proverbs 13:34 Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people) God will place wicked leaders in place for reasons only His supreme wisdom knows. Perhaps this is done as a way to sound the alarm, or bring judgment on a nation. This of course does not mean we elude our calling to live righteously, and vote for those who in our judgment will lead with Godly fear and devotion. Government though should be limited and we should not look to government for the solution to most of our problems. If you would like we can talk more later when we can share more thoughts.

When we are back to having statesmen (and women) instead of politicians. At the start, congress was something you did for part of the year. The rest of the year you still had a regular job (if you didn't you would probably starve etc.) Now though, for serving one term a senator is entitled to a pension. As long as it is a paid, full time position, Congress will be corrupt. And if we, as the people, remain afraid of the Govt. then it will just get worse.

Never. Governments have never done this in the past, are not doing it now, and have no intention of doing it in the future. We were warned by our forefathers about the dangers of uncontrolled government growth, yet we collectively demand more that requires such growth.

Every time someone says "there ought to be law . . .", lo and behold, one seems to show up. The trouble is every law in some way curtails our freedom.

After 200+ years of this, we have built the largest and most overbearing government imaginable. The old Soviet Union officials must be looking in awe at the shear bureaucracy.

Not until you stop voting for people that serve a party.

When you vote for a party all that you do is give them the numbers to dictate what (their) want.

They call that a (mandate to rule) give by the people.

You all will have to vote in people that you can control.
That will vote in why that is good fore the people.

It as never been done in the past, until there was a uprising by the people on mass.

Shortly after Hell freezes over... jk-

Benjamin Franklin once said that our leaders will lead with integrity... till they figure out they can vote themselves a pay raise.

Term limits, publishing/broadcasting Congressional session results (what was voted on, who voted how), etc would help, but that only polices those in leadership. It doesn't grow integrity within their hearts.

Those who currently already have personal integrity, those we know personally and want to "write in"... their personal integrity creates a distaste for politics... sad.

Not until we the people make it happen. We follow these politicians around like a bunch of lemurs. But, there has been a an upward surge in people that think for themselves. I hope that it take hold all over the nation.

If it does not, then we are doomed.

Governement leaders are not in the business to serve the people. They are in the business to serve themselves.

Not until the kingdom of God is established on earth. The children of darkness have taken over this world, and will rule it till Jesus returns to defeat them once and for all.
