Hello, I have been asked to make a presentation on an event or issue for my school's club that hasn't been televised much or is not very well known in the public eye.
Basically, the club is looking for social/political issues...

Any suggestions?

I wanted to present the "rainbow movement/march" that martin luther king jr. was going to lead before he was shot, but I can't find any information on it. It was supposedly a new movement that King wanted to do to unite all walks of life: white, black, asian, hispanic, etc... into a common goal for change.

However, I can't find any information on that movement at all. Can anyone lead the way?

Ok. I've been getting conflicting info on this. So, my throat is all swelled up. Im not sick, and I feel fine. It just looks like someone tap danced on the back of my throat. I saw a local doc, who gave me antibiotics. He also told me to go see an ear nose and throat doctor if the meds didnt help. They are not helping. And no openings for 2 weeks. My question is, if I go with my current condition, will they treat me? Or will they disqualify me untill i get better. If they dont look down my throat then ill be fine. Its quite a ways to MEPS from where I live, so will i or will i not be disqualified? Because if they treat me then im gone ASAP!

I know that we elect people to make decisions for us, but how do they get this info? I have written letters, etc, but all I have ever gotten back was a form letter...Thank you for your concern, blah blah...
Do any of these letters ever reach the elected officials themselves? Is there a more effective way to let your voice be heard?

With our current cosmopolitan population, the religious significance of the cross of st George, is no longer representitive, maybe the cross should be similar to that of St Andrew?
This would also mean changing the Union Flag.

- When you have a party that disbelieves its own security assessment that Iraq created *more* terrorists
- When you have political insiders who were *there* writing books about the screwed up things that happened in the White House being called liers
- When you have a President who states "If only my wife and my dog support me, I will not change my policy on Iraq" (a better case of megalomania and incipient dictatorship I've yet to hear)
- When - get this - the party that decries homosexuality as a sin has in charge of the creation of laws against sexual predators a guy who is - you've guessed it - a homo predator of teenage boys!!! (AND they knew about it for the last 5 years but did NOTHING about it)
- When they have a Secretary of Defence that has had a report about him released that details his dismissal of troop level suggestions, failure to anticipate the insurgency and marginalization of dissenters
- HOW, in the name of all that is sacred, can you continue to be so blinkered?

Just wondering since his administration seems to regularly pull from a assorted bag of tricks, and since they are so fond of attempting to modify the constitution....

Seriously, in a time of war, can the US President override the 22nd amendment that limits terms and do a Roosevelt and stay in office for the duration of the war? Everyone (almost) would be in a uproar, but considering all the crap that has rained down since he has been President, nothing surprises me anymore.

So, could he do it...if his handlers have the gall to do so...and of couse nothing Bush and Co does at this point could shock me much as it has been six years of unpleasant sensory overload...

Discuss...

The Iranian president said "Isn't it a bit strange that the country ordering Iran to stop its nuclear activities not only has its own nuclear power plants, but it also actually used nuclear bombs to destroy Japanese islands??!"

I know of certain instances in which there exist Chinese "entrepreneurs" in charge of major sections of industry. Is this possible within the communist framework of the country? Are these men simply government employees with good positions or are these merely affluent, self-made, independent and private individuals?
