Ok. I've been getting conflicting info on this. So, my throat is all swelled up. Im not sick, and I feel fine. It just looks like someone tap danced on the back of my throat. I saw a local doc, who gave me antibiotics. He also told me to go see an ear nose and throat doctor if the meds didnt help. They are not helping. And no openings for 2 weeks. My question is, if I go with my current condition, will they treat me? Or will they disqualify me untill i get better. If they dont look down my throat then ill be fine. Its quite a ways to MEPS from where I live, so will i or will i not be disqualified? Because if they treat me then im gone ASAP!

If it's treatable and curable, they probably will not disqualify you. They may not pass you, but have you come back later once the condition is gone. They also will not treat your condition. It's not what they are there for.

Just to make it easier, talk to your recruiter about it, and maybe (if he advises), reschedule.

Listen to Doc OK, I am a military medic, nobody is going anywhere ASAP. You should have what ever it is cleared up first. The war won't end without you.
MEPS dosen't treat anyone non military

MEPS will check your throat and do a complete physical and if you are sick you will be sent home with until you are well. They won't "treat you" like at a doctors office. Sorry.

You may be stopped from shipping as long as you are ill. They don't want to spread any illness, and they want to make sure that you don't sustain any more injuries and can complete your training. HOWEVER, they may ship you.

I understand that it's a long drive. When I was recruiting, it was a 3 1/2 hour drive to MEPS. That makes for a long day, but you may want to go ahead and go. They may ship you.

Good luck and thanks for thinking of us.

<>It's a crap shoot and it depends on your MOS. If they really want you, they'll ignore it or give you something for it. If they're on the up-and-up, they will probably tell you to come back. If your recruiter is a straight shooter, he will probably give you an honest answer.

Yeah, an infectious disease will disqualify you, but they will usually just make you come back in a few weeks until it clears up.

TRUST ME, you DO NOT WANT TO GO TO BOOT CAMP WITH YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM COMPROMISED IN ANYWAY!!
