why not take a little from defense ans spend on making the US more fuel efficient?
I have many questions..
Presently it costs $1Billion to make 30,000 homes solar, why not spend more on that rather than defense? these are proven technologies and 100 billion will make 3 million homes solar.
Why doesn't the US government spend more on making the US less reliant on fossil fuel? also, why not more tax breaks on Hybrids? and make them more popular so that auto manufacturers spend more on R&D? Why do we spend so much on engineering efficient weapons and not on engineering energy efficiency? Jobs would be created either way. WHAT ARE WE DOING? Why are we so short sighted as a country? Less dependency on oil = less financing for the Middle east region = less middle east infuence in the world = less powerful muslim states = less threat from terrorists... RIGHT???

There is a difference between disagreeing with and insulting someone. If we mock our president and don't take him seriously, how do we expect any other country to take him seriously? By making fun of our president, aren't we making it harder for him to deal with foreign affairs (whether you like his actions or not)?

Please don't answer by insulting Bush or the actions he has taken that you disagree with. I would simply like some feedback on whether it is appropriate to mock our leader, rather than just disagreeing with him.

Note: This applies to all presidents, not just Bush.

I have been trying to pay off the criminal district attorny's office but I am scared I cant pay them off in time..has anyone been in this situation..I do not know how long it takes for them to issue a warrant and I need to pay them off..they tell me that they do not know when a warrant will go out..can anyone help me? Sometimes you may be ordered to do something horrific in times of war. The trouble is you may have to spend the rest of your life with the terrible act on your conscience. Here is a true case. Imagine it happened to you:

You are a British soldier in Burma during the second world war, marching through the jungle towards the Japanese enemy. Your patrol captures 3 Burmese villagers and a 10 yr old boy who are almost certainly spying for the Japanese. IF you let them go, they will report your position to the enemy and the lives of all your comrades will be in danger. The officer decides the Burmese must be shot and he select YOU to be one of the firing squad. What do you do?

I think most of us, aside from our daily lives, only spend so much time reading or watching the news. We are only aware of key issues. Then, when a new issue comes up that people have not read before on, they immediately take sides on the issue without lengthy consideration because they are passively afraid people might view them as politically inactive.

Is it not better to admit that you are not knowledgable on the issue (partly because it doesnt effect your life) than to hastily stick with a point of view?

I do understand that most issues are not resolved if one knows everything about it because there is always new knowledge available but maybe our political stand points should grounded on multiple sources instead of whatever your party is feeding you?

I always hear Mexicans and the illegal immigration supporters justify a lot of their stupidity by saying the "Mexicans are poor and dying of hunger in Mexico" and have no choice but to come to the USA illegally. I travel all over Mexico and been here for many years, all I have seen is poor Mexicans but none dying of hunger. Being poor is no reason to be low breakers. Why not break laws in Mexico, protest etc etc and not jump the fence to hold USA hostage and help support your law breaking butts. All 20 millionsof the illegals were not dying of hunger 9ok maybe a few but not the 20 nmillion) I say that the illegals just feel that they can leach off the USA and do so illegally and get away with it as well.
