It seems like there used to be a code to be followed in regards to how the American flag can be used...Like it used to be disrespectful to have it on clothes and stuff. And I keep on seeing people with it in their t-shirts and people that have it made ito something sort of cartoonish, and I know that they think it shows support of our country, but it's so tacky...
I saw a guy today with a necktie that was made out of stars and stripes just like on the flag and it made me sad.

"Since President Bush's approval rating sank to the lowest level of his presidency in May, nearly six in 10 of his appearances have been closed to all media coverage. Bush has yet to hold a single traditional campaign-stylle rally for one of his party's hopefuls this election cycle.

Every one of his events for GOP gubernatorial, House and Senate candidates has been to raise money from faithful Republican donors -- not to urge support among the broader voting public." (Check New Mexico Wire Services)

Is this the behavior of a President who thinks his party is strong and can win fairly? Willvote machine operatives alter your votes in the machines? How will you guarantee that your vote will be counted?

Serious debaters who are willing to discuss all sides, please

From the article;

"With no prospects this year for passing broader immigration changes, House GOP leaders said taking action to seal the border was a matter of urgency. Some GOP lawmakers including Sen. Arlen Specter (news, bio, voting record), R-Pa., however, have said they're not sure immigration could be addressed "on a piecemeal basis."

Frist said he is willing to push ahead with a narrower version favored by House Republicans. Even so, action may not be possible before the November elections, he said, blaming Democrats.

"If you're going to address immigration reform, you have to first and foremost secure our borders," he said on ABC's "This Week." "What I've done, and hopefully what we'll be voting on the floor of the Senate this week, is take the common parts of the House bill and the common parts of the Senate bill."
