It turns out, the only reason McCain is demanding that prisoners like Khalid Sheikh Mohammed -- mastermind of the 9/11 attacks, the beheading of journalist Daniel Pearl and other atrocities -- be treated like Martha Stewart facing an insider trading charge is this: "It's all about the United States of America and what is going to happen to Americans who are taken prisoner in future wars."

McCain, along with Sen. Lindsey Graham and Sen. John Warner -- or, as the Times now calls him, the "courtly Virginian" -- want terrorists treated like Americans accused of crimes, with full access to classified information against them and a list of the undercover agents involved in their capture. Liberals' interest in protecting classified information started and ended with Valerie Plame.

Chrisianity teaches "love thy neighbor as thyself", "pray for those who hurt you", "love your enemy because even the sinner can love those who love him".

From what I've gathered from Jesus' words, he teaches LOVE, FORGIVENESS, treating others as you would want to be treated.

God loves us all! Sins or no sins....How can that offend you?

The ruling UPA has announced to call a special session of parliament to pass an amend ment to the recent ruling of the supreme court in the matter of Delhi unauthorised shops.
My question is why not abolish the supreme court itself by amend ment to the constitution so that all decisions on all cases can be taken by the parliament like the old citizens committee of Athens which passed death sentence onsocrates for speaking the truth?

How do you think loyalty to an organization and/or obligations to follow a prescribed procedure factor into the situation?

What about the organization's obligation to meet the needs of their clientele?

I'm getting ideas for a paper I am writing. I'm especially interested in the public sector.

I mean don't you think it's a matter of time that there won't be a major superpower like America and there should be either a multipolar world or a non-polar world. I frankly support multi polar world. Though it doesn't mean I support communism but I did support existence of state of Soviet Union. How many people agree on this with me or don't agree. Thanks.

I attended two gatherings last weekend. One was a BBQ with some friends from my past that consisted mainly of people who were not college educated. Most were pro-war and pro Bush. The other was a dinner party with business associates that consisted of people who at a minimum had masters degrees in something. They were anti war and anti Bush administration. Am I seeing a pattern??

In many British police stations, prisoners have their shoes confiscated or else they are required to leave them outside the cells.

I suppose a key reason for this is to prevent them from hanging themselves with the laces. However, I understand prisoners in some police stations, detainees have been required to remove shoes without laces. Is this to prevent them kicking or getting the cell dirty?

Why do we Americans put up with the illegal invasion of our country. Our Government won't do anything about it. is it time we Americans take the law into our own hands to repel this illegal invasion. ?

Let's stop lying to ourselves. There really is no difference between "Democrats" and "Republicans". They put up the nice charade of being at odds with each other, but in the end, they all went to college together, they were in the same secret societies, their kids go to the same schools and they hang out at the same country clubs together. There is only one ruling party: the upper class white (with a few colored people thrown in) party.

"NATIONAL CITY – In response to Mayor Nick Inzunza's declaration that he wants National City to become a sanctuary for illegal immigrants, the city's police union stated that its members will continue to comply with state and federal law and not fall prey to the “political whims of a misinformed politician.”

During Tuesday night's City Council meeting, Dennis Leach, president of the National City Police Officers Association, read aloud a letter addressed to the council, city manager, city staff and “conspicuously absent mayor.”

“The National City Police Officers Association will continue to advise its members that the political whimsy of one individual does not and will not influence us or deter us from our official duties in regard to the enforcement of the law,” Leach said.

My girlfriend recently took up a new post wich was temporary, with her hospital. She is a nurse, but her new job was as a clinical nurse specialist, ie reg 9-5 hours and better pay. Shee took up the post in Jan this year and is still doing it.
Now, the lady she was covering for decided she was taking another job in a different hospital, so the job was available and so, went public.
Her previous ward manager, (same age) was down as her referee, so thinking she was sure to get a good reference from her old manager she awaited interview.
Turned out her old manager had aslo (sneakliy) applied for the job.
Low and behold, she gets aletter last week saying her old boss has the job and my girlfrienf has to go back to her old job.
Surely there is SOME legal issue here? Would they not have to prove the right person got the job? I mean my girlfriend has to stay on and TRAIN her old boss to do the job she has been doing!!!

Should she seek legal advice? Comments and advice please. Thanks.

Out of all the member countries, the US contirbutes 22% of the UN's regular budget and 27% of their peacekeeping budget--a FOURTH of the budget where there are hundreds of members. Why do we continue to prop up an organization full of waste, fraud and abuse, consisting mostly of thrid world dictators, socialists, and human rights abusers? Why do continue to put up with spending so much and getting kicked in the teeth in return?

Subject: Not quite

Message: The Republicans as a party might not be racist, but as a conservative I definitely am.

Its the blacks who commit disproportionate amounts of crime. Its the black 'families' that are failing their children, being raised in fatherless households. It is the blacks who lampoon and castigate any other black who criticizes the failings of the black community (ie: Bill Cosby).

Blacks in America frequently have bad attitudes and don't realize how much they have benefitted from their ancestors being forced over. Compare yourself to black Africans who are starving and tell me who US blacks have to thank for their higher standard of living? Yes it is us whites thank you very much.

At least he was honest. If he read some of my posts he wouldn't have bothered. I don't want to publicly embarrass him but PM me if you want to know more. RACISM is ALIVE and WELL in the MIDWEST.

I have heard nothing but complaints about Ray Nagin and his running of this city. I talked to him last week, taking the opportunity to encourage him at the Lakeview Fest and I told him that I have teenagers at home that are unthankful too, I told him to stay the course and in time N.O. would understand. Most of us are having enough trouble managing our own homes and families but it seems so American to criticize men and women who are called upon to manage hundreds of thousands of unthankful "kids". If you can do such a wonderful "arm chair Mayor" job, then run for office, then we as Americans will undoubtedly criticize you for your inept dealings and your imcompetence. Or are you only brave enough to talk about it?

Most people are poor due to laziness and the poor choices they made. Others, it is just bad luck, but as a whole it is not helping a poor person to get out of their current situation. There are too many people taking advantage of the Welfare system. Why should honest working Americans pay for all of their kids, $150 pair of Nike's, and drug and alcohol habits?

The reaction in the Muslim world was predictable, but depressingly insufficient. Islamic civilization cannot be reduced to the power of the sword. It was the vital bridge between the Ancient world and the European Renaissance. It was the Catholic Church that declared War on Islam in the Iberian Peninsula and Sicily. Mass expulsions, killings, forced conversions and a vicious Inquisition to police the cleansed Europe and the reformist Protestant enemy.

The fury against 'heretics' led to the burning of Cathar villages in Southern France. Jews and Protestants alike were granted refuge by the Ottoman Empire, a refuge they would have been denied had Istanbul remained Constantinople. 'Slaves, obey your human masters. For Christ is the real master you serve' said Paul (Colossians 3: 22-24) in establishing a collaborationist tradition which fell on its knees before wealth and power and which reached its apogee during the Second World War where the leadership of the Church collaborated with
