Chrisianity teaches "love thy neighbor as thyself", "pray for those who hurt you", "love your enemy because even the sinner can love those who love him".

From what I've gathered from Jesus' words, he teaches LOVE, FORGIVENESS, treating others as you would want to be treated.

God loves us all! Sins or no sins....How can that offend you?

Christianity, as a religion, is great. It teaches proper morals and good conduct. However, Christians (not all, just the extremists) are offensive. Remember, more people have died "loving thy neighbor" in Christ's name than for any other person in the history of mankind. Others (cough Jehovah's Witnesses) don't respect other religions, be they peaceful or otherwise, and insist on conversions.

for starters christianity denies our Use of God-given Intelligence
In the most important of all areas - our belief in God's word - Christianity asks us to abandon reason. (consider the ark story)

Something else that is ridiculous... Christianity does not plainly and unambiguously tell us the single most important thing we supposedly have to know: how to be saved. As evidence, I submit the many Christian sects which disagree heatedly on this point. In one place it says, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved." In another, it says, "Faith without works is dead." A few sects believe that if you're not baptized you'll go to hell.

But I think the main reason is this:

Christianity's intolerance of other religions, and their creed of eternal damnation for those who deny Jesus.

This is the point that garners the most offense from the rest of the world. It is the sheer arrogance of this belief. The smugness with which this stance is uttered. This is where people are offended by christianity. And they are offended because it is simply not true.

What offends me is that Jesus wrote nothing, it is all second hand information. It is all dependent on middlemen, interpretations, recollections, revisions, here say.
Jesus was Jewish! Lead by example! He wanted to modify Judaism.

The whole human sacrifice, torture, crucifixion thing is really less
than Godlike as well. A Deity capable of creating the known universe would not use such horrific, medieval tactics! Think about it, really think!

I agree with charming. all the big religions preach approximately the same thing. I personally dislike christians who think their way is the only correct one and try to convert other people. it shows deep disrespect and intolerance.

Christianity is not flawed.. But there are some pretty silly Christians

Oh, and god teaches love and forgiveness? Like he forgave Adam and Eve? Like he loved Sodom & Gamora, and Lot's Wife? Please.. God's love and forgiveness is not as great as some preach.
