It ends when radical Islamics stop trying to force the world to convert to their religion under the threat of death.

This problem has been building steadily the past 20 years, long before the Bush administration.

I hate to burst your little bubble, but these have been issues for more years than I'm sure you and most of us on here have been alive. The only difference is that we 24/7 news coverage that is bringing it into your living room all the time. This president is doing what is right for this country. Shut off the TV and start using logic and you will be much happier.

One president, yes. It's going to take more than one term to alleviate any of the hardships we as a country are facing. You know that old adage "It's gotta get worse before it gets better." I believe that's right in this case. If we have a few consecutive good strong people in office we'll be all-right in a while.

I sure hope we're not beyond repair. Surely you've noticed the LACK of potential canidates for the next presidential election. It seems that by now there are at least a few announcing their interest. Seems maybe they know better the extent of our mess and know it is nearly hopeless if Dubya is allowed to complete his term. The American people could change things by standing up and removing him from office....it would show the world that the recent happenings were not OUR choices...but his and we don't agree

I think you are misguided in your question. If our government is in too deep, then our government is partially responsible for getting us in. If you expect the new president to be our saver, you need to look past him and see how many of the fools that are in congress and the house of representatives are going to be around to play politics at the risk of our nation, as they are doing now. I'm not talking about one party. I'm talking about both. We have men and women giving their lives in Iraq and Afghanistan for their belief in what our nation stands for, yet we have politicians in Washington that will not vote for what's best for our nation but what they feel will get them re-elected.

These problems have been on going for years, we are just more aware of it then before. A new president can only do what the congress allows him to do. And he has to deceide which issue to take care of first.

Whatever the goals, (I've an inkling) it appears to have been set in motion long before Bush came to office. I have my doubts that our government is the only government involved.
Seems it's been a joint collaborative effort over several decades.

A new president is not going to get us out because the same group always elects each new president, and the group doing the electing has evil motives...

Bush may have decided the presidency will be on the Democrats next time, and perhaps he wants them to fail.
