From tomorrow, relatives will no longer have the automatic power to stop organs being taken from a person who has died if that person is on the donor register.
Good idea or not?

I am going through a rather crazy divorce/custody battle in the state of Texas. My soon to be ex-husband said that he has recorded our phone conversations without me knowing, and he let me know that he was planning on using it in court. I'm not worried about it, I haven't talked to him on the phone since I had to put a protective order on him for harrasment. There is no conversation to be recorded. I was just wondering if it was legal to do this, because I know in Oklahoma, where I live, it isn't legal.

It never fails that when a Far Left Wing ACLU Adoring Liberal Democrat is confronted with a legitimate question they almost ALWAYS respond with, "personal character attacks", "name-calling"; they cite past wrong behavior by Republicans to justify equally wrong or worse behavior by Liberal Democrats?

Why?

Why are Far Left Wing ACLU Adoring Liberal Democrats complete and utter Partisan IDEOLOGS and think only in those terms, refusing to work together with "whatever group or individual"
is in power for the greater good of America?

Why is ALL their anger directed at George Bush instead of the common enemy that faces us all, Islamic Terror?

Why are Far Left Wing Liberal Democrats perceived as having NO different or better policy re: National Security or the War on Terror or the future of Irac except to Bash Bush 24-7 to the point where they never mention the beheadings and other atrocities occuring but are constantly all ablaze about ther Rights of terrorists being held by us!

Let’s impeach the president for lying
And leading our country into war
Abusing all the power that we gave him
And shipping all our money out the door
He’s the man who hired all the criminals
The White House shadows who hide behind closed doors
And bend the facts to fit with their new stories
Of why we have to send our men to war
Let’s impeach the president for spying
On citizens inside their own homes
Breaking every law in the country
By tapping our computers and telephones
What if Al Qaeda blew up the levees
Would New Orleans have been safer that way
Sheltered by our government’s protection
Or was someone just not home that day?
Let’s impeach the president
For hijacking our religion and using it to get elected
Dividing our country into colors
And still leaving black (and poor) people neglected
Thank god he’s racking down on steroids
Since he sold his old baseball team
There’s lot of people looking at big trouble
But of course the President is clean.
THAN GOD

Why are some officers honest and others inherently dishonest? What makes a good cop good, and a bad cop bad? Don't they check personalities before they hire an officer?

Also, what's the prevent a bad cop from framing an innocent person they don't like for a crime? Would the 'good' cops back up the 'bad' cop, even if it means an innocent person goes to jail for a crime they did not commit?

i've read so much BS in here from people. "why do liberals love al qaeda?" and the like. its automatically assumed, that if you dont agree with the actions being taking, are against the presidents policies, its because you support terrorists. thats what what we liberals are for. we stand for keeping what ourcountry is based on being true to the core. we dont believe in fighting this war, but isnt because we "love" terrorists"...we want peace, not war. we've seen the actions the government has taken, and we dont agree. it doesnt mean we want to support terrorists, it means we have more love for our country and what it was founded on than most. now does it make sense?

Saudis are ruled by kings and not elected presidents. Is it because saudis are american puppets? The saudis are intolerant of any other religion, cast, culture and mis-treat foreigners who are employed there. Why force other middle east countries into democracy when the main player in the region is a dictatership? Why double standards? saudis are the main financiers of wars in the region from behind the scenes. Americans with all there sofisticated intelligence network must surely know this? It is known fact that they finance groups labelled as terrorist organisations. So why is nothing being done about this? They are definately not a moderate islamic nation because they follow none of the islamic principles.

I was driving home yesterday. I was in a school zone doing 20 mph when a cop comes speeding down the road behind me. He tailgates me until I turn off to a side street. He starts to follow me down it then he does a U-Turn and goes back out to the main road. I don't know what he was trying to do. It was a total WTF moment.

Since most of the evidence that police found on a crime scene heavily rely on finger prints and use the blood sample (DNA) to determine who have commited a crime, do you think that we should get a DNA sample from everyone so that the police will know who did the crime?

Why not tax the excess money of the remittance senders to help make up the millions of dollars lost by American hospitals in the treatment of indigent illegal aliens?

... Remittances are the visible symptom of a dysfunctional system of national dependency that helps keep the corrupt Mexican oligarchy in power.

It's quite a scam, really — the worse Mexicans run their nation, the more its citizens escape north and send home remittance cash. As this system has become more entrenched, the elite ruling class has no reason to change their irresponsible ways because there are no demands from the people to enact political and economic reform. The rich grow richer and the poor await remittance checks... And make no mistake: Mexico is a very rich country.

The word politics can carry baggage if used in a negative light. Yet, even if we are interested in it or not, it affects each and every one of us. During elections we choose representatives (politicians)to make laws for us and represent our districts, states and nation. There are other numerous possibilities that politics affects our daily life. For example, the Federal Drug Administration recently approved of a law to make the morning-after pill without a prescription. How about the fact that young citizens of America are allowed to vote only after they reach the age of 18. Politics is a man-made institution that affects us all whether for good or bad.

My girlfriend and I are currently 17 and she is pregnant. Ill be 18 in a couple weeks, about 3 months before the baby is born but she will not be 18 till late April of 2007. I was wandering if anyone knew what rights I have over the baby. Her parents often will say something about her being a minor and how they have the power to make all the decisions. I thought possibly since I am not going to be a minor when the baby is born that I may have some rights over the baby and some decision making power. Often I dont agree with things they say about what is going to happen and sometimes they make threats that I cant do anything. I reside in New Hampshire and Im not quite sure how the laws work here. Thanks to everyone who replies sincerley trying to help.
