Why not tax the excess money of the remittance senders to help make up the millions of dollars lost by American hospitals in the treatment of indigent illegal aliens?

It's quite a scam, really — the worse Mexicans run their nation, the more its citizens escape north and send home remittance cash. As this system has become more entrenched, the elite ruling class has no reason to change their irresponsible ways because there are no demands from the people to enact political and economic reform. The rich grow richer and the poor await remittance checks... And make no mistake: Mexico is a very rich country.

I do not think that any illegal immigrant should stay for any reason.
If you want to apply and go through proper channels, fine. Please come. We have been waiting for you! You are so welcome here.
If you are an illegal immigrant, please leave right away. We do not want you here. the very 1st thing you have done when arriving here was to disrespect us and broken our laws. We have enough home-grown criminals here. We do not need you too.
Oh! And you know all those jobs you claim to fill because no one else would? I bet you "legal" immigrants would! Please do not illegally enter our country, disrespect us by breaking our laws and try to tell us you are doing it for us. That sounds like such a classically abusive relationship. It is akin to saying, "I am so sorry that you made me give you a black eye. I only abuse you because I love you".

I agree that there is terrible amount of poverty in Mexico. I would love to see the economic system improved there enough that we would have to be washing our own dishes.
As far as taxes, illegal workers here frequently pay withholding and never recieve any Social Security benefits. They also pay the same in sales taxes as anyone else.
There is a hypocracy in those who complain about the treatment of Mexican citizens in the U.S. Foreigners in Mexico are not even allowed to own land there. Illegal foreigners are treated much worse in Mexico than we can imagine in the U.S.

I have a different angle: we should instead demand payment from Mexico, preferably in oil, for care of Mexican nationals in US hospitals, and education of their children. This way the wealthy class in charge of government has some responsibility to bear.
Right now we've got human beings dying in the desert, just to come over here and work for sub-standard wages in sub-par conditions. It's a human rights nightmare. The most compassionate thing we could do for Mexico's poor is to shut the border with a wall, then establish immigration offices everywhere to bring people over legally.

if they're using a fake SS # then they are paying taxes. if they're not then their wage is less than what the govt would tax anyway. i completely agree with financial penalties for companies (LABOR READY) that do not verify the validity of SS #, and harsh fines for employing people with false SS #. targeting the companies who employ illegals will dry up available jobs leaving no reason to come here. BTW not all illegals are mexican.

If you mean ILLEGAL ALIENS.... they should be deported..... not catered to, not allowed to abuse our system. DEPORTATION is a must.
I would agree to a 90% tax on all money going out of the USA into Mexico... but, deportation is the GOAL, the solution, it will work.
Illegal aliens from Mexico are just slaves of the Castillian ruling class in Mexico....

Well for one, Mexicans cannot bare arms, how do you expect them to have any power in that country? The only change that will come will be from a revolt......
Its easy for you, living in a free society, able to bear arms to defend yourself against a corrupt regime to point your little finger, huh?
As far as taxes, they do pay into the system, why not make them all legal so all can pay into it? Would you be happy if all illegals became legal and pay into social security? No, i didnt think so..

they should not be taxed... all of their asses should be sent back.
if they are going to be taxed and forced to support this country, they might as well be made legal...
instead they should be send back and force to fix their own country instead of invading our own.. I'm sorry i'm being cruel
and i'm tired of the whole " we were immigrants too" bull ****...

It seems to me that it'd be kind of hard to tax the paycheck of an illegal immigrant, considering the INS can't get ahold of them to deport them to begin with. Nice idea, though.
