The word politics can carry baggage if used in a negative light. Yet, even if we are interested in it or not, it affects each and every one of us. During elections we choose representatives (politicians)to make laws for us and represent our districts, states and nation. There are other numerous possibilities that politics affects our daily life. For example, the Federal Drug Administration recently approved of a law to make the morning-after pill without a prescription. How about the fact that young citizens of America are allowed to vote only after they reach the age of 18. Politics is a man-made institution that affects us all whether for good or bad.
