America's state religion is free-market capitalism, yet possession of marijuana is a federal crime! Some economists suggest that marijuana is America's biggest cash crop. Over 50% of U.S. college students have smoked it. That means at least half of the future leaders of the country have committed federal crimes. If there is so much demand for marijuana- a drug nobody has ever overdosed on- why does the U.S. government prevent the free trade of this commodity?
Marijuana should be legalized. There should be no specific limits on quantity. There should only be standard trade practices developed as marijuana moves from the black market to the regular economy. If alcohol and tobacco are legal, there is no good reason to keep pot criminalized. Adults are capable of deciding for themselves if they want to use marijuana.

I think that because of the politics around drugs, that they will never be legalized. I do feel however that marijuana should be legalized because collectively it poses no greater health risks than cigarettes and alcohol combined. If marijuana was legalized it would create new jobs, and a totally new taxable item, possibly generating hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue annually.

Yes, it should be legalized. It is no different than booze. As to quantity allowed, it should match that of how much alcohol you can possess. I don't smoke pot, but I do drink beer and wine. And in California, there is no limit on how much I can buy and possess. And beer and wine are taxed. Why are we taxpayers being charged to enforce a law that is unenforceable?

I think you shoudl be able to posess or smoke as much as you like. You shouldn't be able to outlaw something found in nature, that requires no man made chemicals or additives to produce a high.

It should only be legal in certain places. Like the coffee shops in Amsterdam. And you shouldnt be allowed to carry any on you.
