i've read so much BS in here from people. "why do liberals love al qaeda?" and the like. its automatically assumed, that if you dont agree with the actions being taking, are against the presidents policies, its because you support terrorists. thats what what we liberals are for. we stand for keeping what ourcountry is based on being true to the core. we dont believe in fighting this war, but isnt because we "love" terrorists"...we want peace, not war. we've seen the actions the government has taken, and we dont agree. it doesnt mean we want to support terrorists, it means we have more love for our country and what it was founded on than most. now does it make sense?

Amen, brother! (Or sister!) I do not support this war, but I do support our troops. Whenever I see a soldier, I thank him or her for their service and sacrifice to our country. The Republicans assume that if you're against the war, you're against the country and nothing could be further from the truth. I'm proud to say my dad served in the Army during World War II, and my only son is in the Army National Guard. As my son said, "I'd sure feel a lot better about going over there" [meaning Iraq] "if I thought we were fighting for something." Did you catch Donald Rumsfeld's speech yesterday wherein he compared Iraq war opponents to Hitler apologists? Sickening. We don't need that kind of divisive talk.

Thank you for saying that!! These are the same people always shouting about freedom of speech but if you say anything against the president or the war then you're an unpatriotic terrorist. Contradiction much? Freedom of speech is the exact reason I should be able to say Bush is an idiot. Just because I don't care much for him as a president doesn't mean I'm unpatriotic or a terrorist. People should learn the difference.

It is unfortunate, but true, that the left for some 20 to 30 years has had an element of it that is reflexively anti-American. It wasn't always like this, and most liberals may not be like this. But some of the louder voices often are like this. Ask yourself, which individuals in the U.S. supported the Soviet Union, which were sympathetic to North Vietnam, and which accuse the U.S. of being the terrorists. Now, most liberals did not have these anti-American opinions, but some did, and some of the most outspoken.

Ever heared of Neville Chamberlain , he is considered by some the father of appeasement .
Here is a clip form his 1938 Speech " Peace in our time "

My good friends, for the second time in our history, a British Prime Minister has returned from Germany bringing peace with honour.
I believe it is peace for our time...
Go home and get a nice quiet sleep

You claim you want peace not war ,well there are plenty in the world who do not share your belief . ask the mullahs in Iran how much they want peace , Ask Ossama how much he want wants peace he'll snibble about some wrong in the 12 century and call for Jihad ,
Peace would be wonderful but lets be real Peace isn't peace if it isn't mutually respect by all sides .
What caused the fall of South Vietnam ( A peace treaty ) that called for the American troops to leave disagree with me fine.
But when we left , the north kept attacking now is that peace or appeasement .

i agree to a point. you are not a terrorist supporter if you don't support the war on terror. you are wrong but entitled to be so.
if some shoots at you you shoot back. you don't wave a hand in the air and say "Um... can we talk about this?"
that having been said just because i disagree does not mean we (the country) don't need people on both sides of any issue to maintain a balanced approach

Yes I agree just look at SEN MCCAIN he is the first senator that voted for the war. Now look at him he is flip floping like a fish on the floor. Cause he knew what he did was not right. But look at SEN CLINTON she is for the war to and she still is i think all the politicians are up to something.

this country does not have to prove itself to anyone regarding so called human rights
we started the abolition movement (it was not only Britain involved with slavery, in many cases this was the way some countries bartered)
Also for hundreds of years we have welcomed refugees from all nations this is a fight against evil and for survival a simple do or die scenario so wake up
