People have civil liberties, this is a free country. Conservative christians have no right whatsoever telling people without their beliefs what to do because "their" religion thinks it's wrong. People who do things against your bible are adults, and do not need daddy/mommy telling them what to do. Why don't you just back off and keep all your garbage at church?

I see at least once everytime I log on to here either Democrats complaining about Republicans or vice versa. Why the heck can't you just agree on something and stop being so infantile with the name calling, and the constant barrage of critical behavior of each other.

It seems anymore that these two political parties are working against each other to make the country what they feel it should be rather than working together, while listening to the citizens to make it the way we all think it should be.

I am a registered Democrat which some of you will probably say " I am sorry" or " you are an idiot", I really don't care what anyone says. I really think that starting now everyone needs to work with each other, which means compromising without complaining and name calling. I'm sure I am going to get smart a$$ remarks but I would appreciate it if you didn't do this because this is an honest question that requests an honest answer.

Israel has broken the ceasefire once again, killing four Lebanese children and wounding 21 in the last few days. What, you haven't read about it? That's because these deaths were caused by weapons fired before the ceasefire went into effect: cluster bombs. According to the U.N., these weapons, not illegal per se but illegal when fired into urban areas as they were, were fired largely in the last few days of the war, as (and these are my words, not the U.N.'s) Israel lashed out in vengeance to kill as many Lebanese as possible before it was forced to stop its deadly assault, at least temporarily.


Now those unexploded cluster bombs litter the villages of southern Lebanon, just waiting for the small children to pick them up and die, or perhaps just be crippled for life, like Sukna, Hassan and Merwa Saleh.

how can anyone claim that most undocumented immigrants are in welfare if the number ( the number of welfare recipients ) has drop so drasticaly unlike their numbers ( the number of people whit out documents ) ???

Do you sympathize with, or have a special tendency to forgive people who constantly lie to you? Or are known convicts, i.e. murderers and thieves?

Then why defend Bush and his lies? Why defend a liar and a murderer? Why defend a person who couldn't string a sentence together to save his life? Why defend and insult the thousands of innocent people who have perished in 9/11 and after.

County hospitals in texas are paying for care of illegal that is not allowed by law. The law states they can only pay for non-emergency care if its done with money from the fed's only. Not with local money. Parkland hospital in Dallas doesnt ask ones legal status and gives free care to illegals. Here is a letter from a senator in Texas who says its illegal. Anyone a lawyer? Thank you for contacting me regarding recent federal legislation and its impact on local entities administering non-emergency health care to illegal immigrants.



The federal Deficit Reduction Act, passed earlier this year by Congress, requires states to verify the citizenship of applicants for Medicaid benefits. Prior to the Act, illegal immigrants were not eligible for Medicaid benefits. Illegal immigrants remain ineligible for Medicaid benefits under the new provisions; however, the number of illegal immigrants unlawfully receiving benefits could now conceivably decrease because of the more stringent verification requirements.



The federal Personal Responsibility Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 provides that illegal immigrants are ineligible for state and local public benefits unless a state enacts a law affirmatively providing that they are eligible for certain benefits. In Texas, local hospitals are permitted, but not required, to provide non-emergency public health services to illegal immigrants who are otherwise ineligible under federal law. However, the local entity may only use local funds for this purpose and is prohibited from using state or federal funds. The federal Deficit Reduction Act does not impact a local entity's right to provide non-emergency benefits to illegal immigrants since no state or federal funds may be utilized and the hospitals are not receiving Medicaid reimbursements.



I would encourage you to share your concerns regarding local hospitals' decisions to offer non-emergency health services with those that have chosen to do so, and will also remain mindful of your inquiry as I continue to closely monitor this issue.
