1. Powerful and Continuing Nationalism - Fascist regimes tend to make constant use of patriotic mottos, slogans, symbols, songs, and other paraphernalia. Flags are seen everywhere, as are flag symbols on clothing and in public displays.

2. Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights - Because of fear of enemies and the need for security, the people in fascist regimes are persuaded that human rights can be ignored in certain cases because of "need." The people tend to look the other way or even approve of torture, summary executions, assassinations, long incarcerations of prisoners, and the like.

3. Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause - The people are rallied into a unifying patriotic frenzy over the need to eliminate a perceived common threat or foe: racial, ethnic or religious minorities; liberals; communists; socialists, terrorists, and the like.

4. Supremacy of the Military - Even when there are widespread domestic problems, the military is given a disproportionate amount of government funding, and the domestic agenda i s neglected. Soldiers and military service are glamorized.

5. Rampant Sexism - The governments of fascist nations tend to be almost exclusively male-dominated. Under fascist regimes, traditional gender roles are made more rigid. Opposition to abortion is high, as is homophobia and anti-gay legislation and national policy.

6. Controlled Mass Media - Sometimes the media are directly controlled by the government, but in other cases, the media are indirectly controlled by government regulation, or sympathetic media spokespeople and executives. Censorship, especially in war time, is very common.

7. Obsession with National Security - Fear is used as a motivational tool by the government over the masses.

8. Religion and Government are Intertwined - Governments in fascist nations tend to use the most common religion in the nation as a tool to manipulate public opinion. Religious rhetoric and terminology is common from government leaders, even when the major tenets of the religion are diametrically opposed to the government's policies or actions.

9. Corporate Power is Protected - The industrial and business aristocracy of a fascist nation often are the ones who put the government leaders into power, creating a mutually beneficial business/government relationship and power elite.

10. Labor Power is Suppressed - Because the organizing power of labor is the only real threat to a fascist government, labor unions are either eliminated entirely, or are severely suppressed .

11. Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts - Fascist nations tend to promote and tolerate open hostility to higher education and academia. It is not uncommon for professors and other academics to be censored or even arrested. Free expression in the arts is openly attacked and governments often refuse to fund the arts.

12. Obsession with Crime and Punishment - Under fascist regimes, the police are given almost limitless power to enforce laws. The people are often willing to overlook police abuses and even forego civil liberties in the name of patriotism. There is often a national police force with virtually unlimited power in fascist nations.

13. Rampant Cronyism and Corruption - Fascist regimes almost always are governed by groups of friends and associates who appoint each other to government positions and use governmental power and authority to protect their friends from accountability. It is not uncommon in fascist regimes for national resources and even treasures to be appropriated or even outright stolen by government leaders.

14. Fraudulent Elections - Sometimes elections in fascist nations are a complete sham. Other times elections are manipulated by smear campaigns against or even assassination of opposition candidates, use of legislation to control voting numbers or political district boundaries, and manipulation of the media. Fascist nations also typically use their judiciaries to manipulate or control elections.

Seems many people are confused. I keep seeing the same thing. Terrorist=middle eastern, muslim. Immigrant=illegal, mexican. Do you fit into this category? Or do you realize that terrorism exists EVERYWHERE in EVERYBODY, and immigrants are from EVERYWHERE, and not always ILLEGAL? This is perhaps the reason it took a while to find Timothy McVeigh (they thought he was middle eastern, and brown) and the reason we are arresting teenagers from Ohio for buying cell phones (they were of middle eastern descent) and then letting them go for lack of evidence.

It seems so simple. I don't hurt you or disrespect you. You don't hurt me or disrespect me. Oh, and my government stops bombing your country. Sure, I'd like to share some of my excess food with you. Please, you don't have to prove that your penis is bigger than mine. Really. I'll take your word for it.

Lets review their ignornance for a moment.

1. They state that if you want the laws of this land obeyed and enforced you are racist. They can deny it all they want but it's right there in their own words for all to see. Using their lack of logic all people in the world are racist because 99% of the population of the world want their laws obeyed.
2. They seem to think the economy of this country would collaspe if we had no illegal workers. Using their logic illegals have some magical economic powers that no serious study has been able to find.
3. Back to the "racist" issue, unless you can show me that our invaders from south of US border are Asian or Black they aren't a different race. It's called an ethinicity folks please learn the difference.
4. Yes they do have taxes withheld, almost always with a stolen Social Security Number so now we add identity theft to the list of crimes. Do you want your SS# being used illegally ?

Will you please wake up and smell the coffee now ?

Has ANYONE or ANY GOVERNMENT asked Al Qaeda, Hezbollah or Hammas what they want?

The news is full of peeps covering wars and interviews with senators with 41 recommendations to provide security against attack.

The US cannot even control the Mexican border so how do we expect them to control myriads of ways of creating damage worldwide?

Of course all this is futile. We are all at risk. Anywhere and everywhere.

The ONLY way is to initiate down-to-earth discussions with these groups and find out why they want to destroy the West and Israel.

Even the muslim community is is against terrorism, so we need to identify what is being demanded and whether it is reasonable or not.

We cannot hope to contain this threat this way by bombing people out of existence.

Do unto others as you would be done by

That is the ONLY solution

My hubby is adopting my son. My ex was listed on the BC but he is not the father. I have no idea who the father really is. The ex knows he is not the father and hasn't seen my son since he was a month old. Lawyer said I had to call my ex to have him come to her office to sign rights away. I am terrified of this man...extremely abusive. I made the calls against by better judgement and told the ex he was done with his part b/c the lawyers said that was all that is needed from him. Now 2 months before we are done the lawyer decided he should sign yet another form that is already covered in the first one. Her reason is to be just more clear about everything. Knowing I HATE this man and wish never to have anything to do with him she says I have to call him again to make more arrangments. Isn't that pat of her job? Shouldn't she be doing all this? Isn't that part of the reason hubby and I are paying her?

I was told that air force one carries air to air missles. i do not believe this to be true, but i said i would investigate.
i can comprehend that, given the amount of other on board systems af1 carries, a weapons platform would not be beyond its peramiters. however if it were armed it could be seen as a hostile aircraft if flying in another countries airspace and would be subject to scrutiny. i imagine that if it were armed it would be secret.
