In most legal systems ignorance is not a defence (ie. you can't plead innocent to a crime just because you didn't know it was illegal). But my question is, is this fair? Some aspects of law are so technical, normal people can't be expected to know about every little detail. And I'm not just talking about complicated business or financial law here, I'm thinking of laws that affect people's lives such as laws regarding alcohol, drugs and sex.

There is this pious belief that these people enter politics to make the world a better place. They may believe that when they are 15 yrs old but soon change as soon as they are elected.

Yahoo Answers seems happy to allow many questions justifying the killing of civilians by Americans.

Why is it then, that when I suggest that deaths of American civilians was completely justified on 9/11 (in view of the casual attitude of Americans to foreign civilian deaths) my question is deleted?

I used to wonder if John Madden could one up him, but Cheney, man.... it's got to be like a toxic oil spill in there everytime he uses the loo... dead seals clogging the drain and whatnot......

Does he just go around dropping superfund sites with his morning coffee?

My husband went back to live in Rep of Ireland to avoid paying child support to our four children who live in England. The British child support agency doesn't have any jurisdiction within Eire. He visits the children once a year and brags about his good job, his house he's brought and holidays while we're living hand to mouth. Surely there must be a way around this loop hole for example dead beat dads of Northern Ireland would just move south of the border to avoid child support as would dads from the republic would just move to the north. Please help many thanks to any replies

I know this girl who claims her family lived there for 3 years, but she is pathological so I am curious. If there is a base, is it a normal base, where your entire family could live?
