Who says he won't get the nomination? Do you know something no one else knows? He's the only Republican a lot of Democrats would feel comfortable with since he's a bit of a maverick. I probably wouldn't vote for him, but if he got elected it would be a lot better than say, Frist, or Jeb Bob, or some of the other losers the Republicans have.

He won't tow the line with the extreme wing of the party, so he will get the same treatment he got in 2000- push polling, whisper campaigns, etc.
This is definitely a bad thing. I would rather have McCain as the Republican candidate than another Bush type. I could live with McCain.

McCain is nothing more than a Democrat in Republican cloths. He will not get the nod as the Republican in 08 and this is good.

Because he has moved to far to the center. This does not mean he can't win, it depends who he is running against. If it is Giuliani who is essentially a democrat on every social issue, may make it easier for him. He is trying to change the perception within the party however. Depending on who the republicans end up nominating it could be good or bad. Ill just say i would take McCain over Hillary on any one else on the left.

a delightful theory yet I say no. Karl Rove had mapped out "an eternal Republican majority" and watched it prevail contained in the unlawful redistricting of Texas. there replaced into no reason behind the get at the same time to imagine that McCain could lose. He led contained in the summer time polls for fairly a at the same time as, keep in recommendations?. He loved an more advantageous leap at the same time as the unknown Palin replaced into presented, no longer understanding she could undo the campaign. Had he picked Tim Pawlenty, we would have considered a closer race yet i imagine Obama could have gained. My Republican uncle count number of factly stated in the previous the election "all and distinctive seems ill persons in the present day, the picture of they have been of the Democrats contained in the previous, so as that they could spend time regrouping." In 2012, there'll be a sacrficial lamb. we've not began to understand whom.

because he's the Lieberman of the Republican party...
this is what you get for reaching across party lines now days...
but, if the election was held today, I think McCain is the only guy that has a chance for them... but it's still a long ways away and much can change...

The Republican party is run by self-aggrandizing, non-military, corrupt panzies. As a Republican, McCain represents everything they aren't - fairly honest, straight-talking, down-to-business, war hero, with ethics mostly intact. Consequently, the Republican loathes him!
Plus, that guy is way to old. Is it just me or does he look like a corpse?

He has a decent chance of getting elected if he got the nomination. He is a centrist, and people often vote for centrist candidates. However, there are better possible candidates like Giuliani.

He's the republican version of Joe Lieberman. Sad, because he's about the only republican that I would have voted for in '08.
