On June 14, 1954, Congress passed legislation to add "under God" to the Pledge of Allegiance. Why did they believe that these words reflected a country of diverse beliefs and opinions? Why would they put these words immediately before "indivisible," when it's clear that religion is one of the most dividing factors in our nation?

*PLEASE-- whatever your religious beliefs, if any, don't get started on whether God is real or not. This has no bearing on the context of my political question.*

I find this very amusing. Lefties cry and cry about the Republicans and the rich. But what makes me laugh is take a look at Hollywood. They're rich and a very large amount (probably 95%) donate money to the DNC or a canidate in which they endorse.

I just noticed in a store that one has to have a valid driver's license as proof of age to buy cigarettes or alcohol. Why wouldn't a license that is expired be acceppted as proof of age.

My step sons mother is what you would call a deadbeat. She is currently 23,000 behind on support and when my husband and I went for enforcement she claimed disability and was excused from paying any further support. (SHE IS NOT DISABLED!) I understand the child is eligable for payment under her. Can we contact the SS office and have that payment sent here because he lives with us? His medical bills and school clothes and things have always been taken care of but it sure would be nice to have some help from her since she is half responsible for him.

Lebanon just rejected a UN cease fire plan. Israel might not agree to it but what is Lebanon thinking? They have allowed Hizbullah to stay in thier country. Hizbullah is using the civilians of Lebanon as human shields while they stay far from the battlefront. Lebanon's problem shouldnt be with Israel. It should be with Hizbullah. For some reason, people are too blind to see this because you wont hear CNN report this. CNN and other BS media keeps focus on how many Lebanese civilians are being killed. They wont focus on Israels casualties or even the Israel has been being attacked for a long time now. It is about time they took action. And as far as Lebanon goes, how much are they really doing to protect its citizens if anything? It seems to me that they are allowing this to gain attention. Your thoughts?

and the Israeli army "has" to kill those civilians in order to get to the terrorist militia and wipe them out, then what would we, the entire western civilization, have "bought" for all this innocent blood? World peace? A world without terrorists? I really wonder....

To explain myself a little better: If Israel is fighting a just war and protect the whole western civilization by fighting the Hezbollah and their hate against our way of life (in that case we HAVE to be on Israel's side, by the way), then many many more have to die for us to live a happy life, wouldn't they?

Can we honestly live with this? I don't think so.

So there has to be another way than war.
Because in the end we would see that NO ONE could really win anyway.
