The following answers already given may largely be true, but I did turn a fellow officer in for something that was terribly wrong. I had to put up with the insults for a time but most of my fellow officers (who had worked with me for years) stood behind me. Some things are just wrong and must be reported.

criminal violence by law enforcement. It's like the code of silence only by cops. Do what you want and don't snitch on each other.

It means a cop can do whatever they want and nothing will be said.If a cop kills someone they just pull someone over for speeding drop that gun in the car,and get awarded for solving a crime.

It's when cops break the law or turn bad, and other cops say nothing about it, even though they should.

You don't speak out against a cop if you are a cop. Even if you know something you don't talk.

It called a perk, every body has perks at there job....if you work at a restaurant you get free grub...mostly. You work in the travel biz you get free travel...you a cop you get a get out a jail free card.

You don't tell on other cops when they do something wrong, or they wont tell on you when you do something wrong. It hardly ever works out because cops are just as katty as anyone else.

unfortunately this is not a good thing. its just an unspoken understanding between cops so that they can get away with not doing their job with the utmost integrity.

Cops stick together....meaning if there's a cop that is corrupted and the others know about it and he gets busted....they don't know anything!
