Let's say, for the ske of argument, that we just open the border and no longer check who comes in. make the rules the same, you MUST apply for residency or be considered an illegal.

OK that is set.
just pass a few little, but powerfull laws (some of these exist in one form or another and vary by location):
It is illegal to:
1. Employ an illegal
2. Sell Real Estate to an illegal
3. Rent lodging to an illegal
4. Sell or lease a vehicle to an illegal
5. Allow an illegal to stay free in any habitation

AND THE CLINCHER:
Anyone who violates these laws will, by law, forfeit ownership in said property/business to the person/'persons, filing the initial report of said violation.

It would NOT be difficult to get a proof of legality from anyone who wants to buy/rent/ lease/work!
and If you or I reported the person skirting the law, well we get the property/business in question!
Wouldn't that get community involvement to a new level?
TURN IN WALMART AND YOU OWN IT!
Intelligent opinions?

World "No Kill Day". One day where all agree not to kill another living being, person or animal...for just one day. Not for any reason.

Every great kingdom falls…proven in history. With the poor conditions of our economy, competition, politics, education, cultural intolerance, lack of community and selfishness, etc. umm…I give America no more than 50 years…and I could be stretching it with 50. Next superpower is definitely coming from the Pacific Rim… What do you think?

Possibly it has to do with a blatant disregard for International law, buddying up to the West who seeks to have another Crusade or at least a total robbery of the region's resource control. Possibly it was back in 1967 where they could have chosen peace but instead decided to be greedy and attack thier neighbors repeatedly. Perhaps it is the brutal occupation of Palestinian land, the humilating checkpoints. Perhaps it is that they openly and proudly state that they do not think Palestinians as a people are even remotely equal to them as far as human life is concerned.
Perhaps it is the demolition of people's homes, collective punishment against people who simply want to work and to raise a family, and have no part whatsoever with the political violence that the IMF and Hamas fighters engage in, while they are just trying to live?
The US citizens should call on the US government to stop supporting Israel for thier sake and ours. Israel is a lame duck, thier policies are lies.

Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death. Kind of a joke now huh?

I think people are too scared, too stupid or both to realize that since the dawn of this country US patriots have fought against the very things Bush and Co. are doing. These Liberties were hard won and we basically just accept unwarranted spying, holding US citizens without due process in virtual concentration camps. We allow racist scapegoating to be the norm. Think about it, a governement that treats others violently and strips thier rights (free press etc.) as in Iraq, also typically acts the same way inwardly, towards its own people. We can clearly see that people in history have fought and died to preserve the rights that were taken away in the last 7 years. How did we let this happen? Why did we?

I know it's a gloomy question and I know some of todays problems go back longer than I could probably imagine but since the turn of the century we've had Iraq and Afghanistan. Recently we've seen N.Korea playing with misslies and Iran stirring things up the nuclear way. Right now Israel and Lebanon are blowing chunks out of each other and today I read Ethiopia has invaded Somalia. What are your opinions? No religious leaning answers please because I can't help notice religion plays at least a major role in all of the above.
