Every great kingdom falls…proven in history. With the poor conditions of our economy, competition, politics, education, cultural intolerance, lack of community and selfishness, etc. umm…I give America no more than 50 years…and I could be stretching it with 50. Next superpower is definitely coming from the Pacific Rim… What do you think?

Well I have to say not long. While I do hate what Bush is doing and blah blah blah, the truth is the United States is a sinking ship. The economy is ruining itself with our GREAT presidential leadership and the military is spread all over the world. This reminds me of the ancient chinese dynasties where you would have a new dynasty that cared and built a great nation but over time, they stop caring and eventually the nation falls to corruption.
I think when China surpasses the US economically in ~40-50 years (estimates by US economic scientists), China will rise in power. I would still put some money on Europe though as they seem to be less self destructive than the US. Africa has no hope so as long as they fight within and due to their lack of a convient acess to resources, I doubt they will live to their full potential which leaves South America and the General Asia (japan/china/korea/ect)
I simply think that China will become the next superpower as the united states falls and Europe will obviously still hold great power though it will be a lesser form than their earlier power. Eh, India has a LONG way to go with their philosophy of having many children in a limited environment.
To summarize, China.

Forever and a day. That's one more day than you can last. "Bring it on!" "The Flying Spaghetti Monster" rules.

Infidels, give your soul over to the Greatest One: "The Flying Spaghetti Monster." Him and his meatball engines are the only chance for you to full your redemption. He has special plans for believers of all the lesser religions.

The "Flying Spaghetti Monster" will still be here one thousand years beyond and a day.

Your puny Gods cannot stand against the Great, Omnipotent, Omnipresent and Omniscient One: "The Flying Spaghetti Monster." The Pacific Rim will not survive the wrath of Him. Warning, warning Will Robinson stop the waters. Hah, Will Robinson is powerless next to Him. The innocence of Will Robinson is but like a pimple on His.

Will Robinson cannot save you; only the Great One: "The Flying Spaghetti Monster." "Captain James T. Kirk" along with Intelligent Design and "Debbie the Bloop" have fallen. They are history--with a small h. The "Enterprise" sank trying to save the Pacific Rim, which is now wallowing in the waters of His anger which fuels global warming, melting even more ice. It is all part of His master plan to punish those who do not worship His Excellency: "The Flying Spaghetti Monster!"

Unbelievers, Infidels, Xena watchers and non-worshipers--doom-doom-doom, I tell you!!! You must get down on your knees and look to the Moon. If you look anywhere else, you will be smoten. Smoten! I tell you!

Squint your eyes, perk your ears, wiggle you big toe--you must do this as you bay at the Moon that you are not, but are looking at. Bay, I tell you. Look I tell you! Don't forget to squint! You better perk your ears and wiggle that big toe!!! HE IS SEEING YOU!! Repent your wicked ways. This is your last chanceeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This has been a paid religious announcement brought to you by the newly impotent, political conglomerate of NeoCons and "Flying Spaghetti Monster." His Excellency will still be here one thousand years from now, or forever and a day--which ever gets here first.

Send all your money to "The Flying Spaghetti Monster," at the NeoCons headquarters 1-666 Bee Ess Road, Monsterington, Spaghettiville 66666

Repent! or you will never feel the fullness of his sons--the powerful meatball engines.

You're probably right-- US will be superpower for easily the next 50-100 years unless a few things happen-- e.g. we lose our economic power, those holding our massive debt turn the screws on us, other coutnries band together to screw us.

China and India are major economic powers that will be alot to deal with in the next 50-100 years. They've got quite a ways to go though-but they're growing fast.

re- Walmart-- simple solution people-- stop shopping there!

I think this great country will not only be a super power ,but we will be the peace makers of the world. Now ,tomorrow and always.I would never get your hopes up and think America will lay down and let another way of life walk over all we hold dear. Maybe if you had fought for the freedoms that this country still offers to all you would be less ready to talk of our demise.
You may wish it to happen, that America falls, but I can tell you .That doesnt mean it can or ever will happen.
America The Beautiful......My country, your hope for lasting peace

oh come on. every great empire is not destined to fall. the future is not set. our culture could be the first to exist for several centuries. it requires the efforts of all of us, of course. a leadership that tried to coalesce around our uniting instincts, as opposed to karl rove's dividing instincts, at some point must get traction with the american spirit, ideals, furture, and culture. our president of course thought that he could control the 'cultural' aspects of out national direction, even as we quite obviously are so much more. our spirit is optimistic, our ideals are practical and pragmatic (not so much idealistic), our future should feel tempting (like i could almost taste it), and our culture wants to be led by the most upstanding american alive, period. when walter cronkite said that the vietnam war was unwinnable, it was over! it took some time, but we knew.

I think it'd take one HELL of a war to de-crown The United States of America in face to face show down for military supremacy and even China has a LoOoOng way to go. At the very least 500- more years, that is unless the U.S. conquers the universe, which is my bet.

I've been thinking about this topic alot lately- but not because I hate America

Probably 90 to 100 years before it implodes upon itself due the massive invasion of mostly illegal immigrants who care little or nothing about this country,.they do not have intentions of contributing in any way to American society.
in fact, many come here and actually campaign against
the US that they are collecting benefits from
Those are the reasosn I belive the USA will eventually break up
I'm sad to say.
