We're pretty good at wrecking stuff, but not so good at rebuilding. Is it "conservative" to spend trillions with nothing to show for it? And what DO we have to show for it?

No matter where you are from. the bars are no longer a relaxed social place because half the regulars don't come anymore & the other half are outside making the conservation we all use to share together. Those who are happy about this & now go to bars, you aren't going to a bar you are at a governed dictated post office. Do me a favor hold your breath when you step outside, your car is putting out carbon monoxide.

All I hear is we live in a Democracy, which is Majority Rule (mob rule) A Democratic Republic on the other hand is where our Senators and Representatives are sworn to protect the Minority form the Majority. In the pledge of Allegiance we say “in the Republic for which it stands”. Why does all everyone say we live in a Democracy and not a Democratic Republic? In a Democracy if 60% of the people want to steal from the 40% minority that would be ok and that’s why all Democracies are destine to fail.

Obviously, gaining rank is a good pay boost and a great responsibility boost. So how hard and how long does it typically take? I plan on serving 20 years, what is the typical rank I will get to at that?

Commissioned officer by the way.

I went to Wal-Mart yesterday and got carded for trying to buy sharpies? How stupider can Wal-Mart get. They told me it was a state law that passed, so I left everything that I had and went to the Dollar Tree next door and bought a pack of 10 sharpies. If we want to use them as a drug people will still do it. It's that easy.

Just like grandpa, Is Dubbaya doing big business with the "enemy". Prescott Bush ignored the fact that his business ventures involves Jewish slave labor from concentration camps in his dealings with the Nazis in order to turn a pretty penny. Did he not give value to human life?

George Bush ( it has been suggested) was complicit in the 9/11 attack, clearly lied about the WMDs, and during his administration hundreds of thousands of people have died, Prices at the pump have skyrocketed, our children are sent off to war. All to turn a profit for himself and Cheney and the ilk. Does he not give value to human life?

Is it wrong for an employer to keep hiring a preferred race. What if someone of a different race is more qualified than the race the employer would prefer. I was once interviewed by a company where there are mostly one type of ethnicity(maybe 90%). There was no indication that the type of position or job atmosphere required me to be of a certain race.

I didn't get the job. But now just looking back at it, i was wondering if these people were being racist since I wasn't the same ethnic background.

We constantly hear and see reports of the brutal and heavy-handed treatment of the Palestinians usually quite disproportinate to the action that is being punished. Stone-throwing youths being shot by tanks for example. Are you listening Israel? You are losing the sympathy and goodwill of the world.
