I am 16 years old and I want to live with my dad, they got divorced when i was 9 and mom got custody of me. She now lives with her abusive alcoholic boyfriend who has beat her. i dont want to live with her anymore because of him. Will court let me live with my father out of state?

I was in a simular situation when I was 16, except I was living with my mother and she didn't remarry... Anywho, you're old enough to decide which parent you want to live with. The courts shouldn't get involved. You want to live with your Dad, go live with him. The biggest problem will be who will pay for the plane ticket...

i think you should turn your court attentions to your moms boyfriend first. can you deal with leaving her like this? later down the road you may regret doing so but you must at least try and help her first. she's your mother.
